futuremrss17 :  I’m SO EXCITED for our honeymoon. Honestly, this month I’m having more fun with honeymoon stuff than wedding stuff (does that make me selfish? hehe).

– I’ve been looking at palm leaf dresses! I really want one!

– I’ve bought two new bathing suit bottoms on super sale at Victoria’s Secret (~$5 each) (I’ll buy matching tops soon, haha).

– I want to get a few trendy, strappy crop tops to wear with a high-waisted skirt.

– We’re going to Hawaii, so I’m considering a subtle Hawaiian-print something or other

– Lily Pulitzer screams summer vacation to me, so I’ve been looking for some pieces on Poshmark.

Honestly, I want to feel amazing in what I pack for the honeymoon, but I don’t want to spend any more than necessary, since we’re paying so much for the wedding and flights and whatnot. So I’m trying to get creative and spread out my spending over the next few months so it doesn’t feel like so much, hehe. And I’m trying to buy only on-sale, second-hand or vintage.

Well done on the weightloss!

Great idea to share wardrobes! We are getting married abroad anyway and our honeymoon is Rome/Venice/Florence so more city based but still planning a new wardrobe for it.

Im thinking of just having my wedding heels as my “going out” heels instead of having to take two different pairs so having to revolve around these really. I also have these really comfy sketchers walking sandals to help with all the sight seeing!  Irregular Choice Pearly Girly White (B11) 3614-48D Ladies Heels All SizesImage result for skechers sandals womens

I’m thinking a capsule wardrobe with some statement peices that can easily be mixed and matched. I found this article useful: http://www.florencefinds.com/day-to-night/ I also found this M&S one about honeymoons useful at the bottom. http://www.ladympresents.co.uk/marks-and-spencer-style-evolution/

I have the blue dress below as my fancy attire by Phase 8 with a shiny belt which I can use with other outfits. I am then going to have a few casual but nice tops/shorts/skirts/dresses that are comfortable and some comfortable flats to walk in. Im thinking clothes like this dress from ASOS is great and simple and can be accessorised in different ways. EG casual bag, sunhat and glasses in the day followed by nice shoes and a clutch in the evening. http://www.asos.com/vero-moda/vero-moda-lace-skater-dress/prd/7533900?iid=7533900&clr=White&SearchQuery=&cid=8799&pgesize=36&pge=0&totalstyles=202&gridsize=3&gridrow=5&gridcolumn=1 (white skater dress shown below)

I think accessories are more important as then they can jazz anything up! This could be necklaces, earings and bracelets or even hair accessories/bags etc. I have a similar gold leaf comb I am in love with similar to the picture below that will help add a bit of glam!

I love this thread. I am SO excited for the Honeymoon. Sod the Wedding, that’s going to be a circus. 2 weeks alone together? That’s what we’re about <3

We’re doing LA, Maui and San Fran so I’m thinking shorts, wide legged trousers and crop tops for most of it (more sensible clothes for SF though, I’ve heard it can be chillier)

I have a whole pinterest board of clothes I want, here’s a selection 🙂 Sorry if any of them are huge lol

rachaell :  AVOID heels in Rome and Florence, seriously. Stick with wedges or very wide block heels. The streets are a nightmare (cobblestone with huge gaps) and heels are seriously unwearable. Just thought I’d mention that.

futuremrss17 :  we honeymooned in Mexico and I wore dresses in the evening, and pretty much lived in bikinis and cover-ups during the day. You can get loads of super cute dresses really cheap at various stores or online. That said on holiday I wear a lot of the same stuff as I wear back home in the evening so you may find you don’t need to buy too many new things

barbie86 :  Thanks for the tip! Been to Rome loads so have experienced the cobblestones firsthand – the heels are for when eating at fancy restaurants – dont worry!

futuremrss17 :  What is your style so we have a bit more of an idea? Although its always nice to experiment and the honeymoon and weightloss may be a good place to start!

rachaell :  AHHHHHH I am jealous you are going to Florence!!! That is my favorite city 🙂

There is a place near the Duomo (cant remember the name, but it has a green and black sign and it is organic) that sells RED WINE GELATO. It is the best thing ever.

I tend to dress quite conservatively “in real life”, and use beach vacations as an excuse to step a bit outside of my normal comfort zone.  I even bought a midriff shirt *gasp* http://www.revolve.com/somedays-lovin-stones-crochet-blouse/dp/SLOV-WS41/?d=Womens&page=2&lc=28&itrownum=42&itcurrpage=2&itview=01

Have you checked out Revolve.com?  They have a ridiculously large selection of stuff that I think is awesome for beach/resort wear.  So many cute rompers!!  In my opinion prices tend to range from the high end of reasonable to absurd, but most stuff ends up getting marked down.
