@stonewell:  It’s that from the Wonderxue Etsy shop? If so, how has your experience been with them? Please, PM me to avoid threadjacking! 🙂

Now, here’s the dress I’ve chosen. I have GOT to say,in ALL honesty that it never occured to me to worry about my age when picking a dress. I like what I like and my biggest concern has always been looking how I want to look in it body-wise. I don’t think it makes a difference..nobody is seeing a number when you walk down the aisle, or at least they shouldn’t be. If they are, they shouldn’t even be in attendance and they can close my wedding album if they are looking at the pics. I admit, if I were in my sixties or something, or I FELT ..I dunno, wrinkly or overtly saggy, I’d probably feel differently, but I imagine I’d LOOK a bit different too. As is, I think I can still pull off something any young bride would, ya know? I’m not tight and toned like I was in my 20’s, especially after quadruplets, but I don’t think thats mandetory in a dress. As Randy would say on SYTTD…”its about SILHOUETTE!” lol

This is the one that I am thinking of.  I loved it on (in ivory, not white).

My future Mother-In-Law will be in town for one night.  I want to try it on again with her and (fingers crossed) get it!

@nycsa:  Thanks–I’m pretty sure it is the one.  I’ll know on Friday when I put it on again.  I keep going back to the picture and staring at it.

My future Mother-In-Law was in town for one night to dress shop.  I tried on the Christina Wu (2nd pic) and she loved it, but then she found this one… (ignore my purple jewelry)

For a moment I was torn. But I really love this Jason Alexander “Sincerity” dress. I have thing for tulle, and this has the softest touch of it.  Off the rack, it is a perfect fit too (I’m only 5’3″).  I do believe this is the one.  But, for comparison, this is the Christina Wu:

Curious as to your thoughts…

I turned 40 the day before our wedding. It was also a beach elopement. In the end, I didn’t settle for the ‘expected’ sundress…I purchased what *I* wanted and have *no* regret!

@XHoulaX:  Beautiful!

Well, I bought the dress today! The Jason Alexander (the first pic above).  They were having a flash sale today on the stock/sample gowns and it fit me perfect!  And I saved $100s (always nice). So now I wait for what seems like forever until I can wear it.

I have to say the whole wedding dress shopping experience was wonderful.  I had to wait nearly 48 years to shop for a wedding gown, but not a single comment about my age or what would be “appropriate.” I will be 49 & 1 week old when I finally get to wear it.
