jne131:  Aww thank you! I’m really hoping my brother will save it for his future wife! Right now he doesn’t appreciate diamonds…

roboteye:  I think you are right about the yellow gold! The setting is just throwing it off for me. Your diamond looks lovely with the rose gold and the champagne color is actually very beautiful! And I really do love champagne so it’s cute I’ll always think of that now. I have a new appreciation for its warmth, it’s just set all wrong!

Ashshealey:  Thank you, I will relay this info to my brother who inherited the ring. He is young and wants to sell it which I was trying to help him with but now that I see everyones stones in gold it’s like a total game changer!

doberman:  What was the occasion for that beautiful ring?! I’m getting converted to these warmer diamonds all of a sudden, they are so luxurious looking!

Hoping to upgrade to a J/K one day…but until then I think the rose gold setting helps my M pop!

I have a gorgeous M color, GIA 3X Round Brilliant. I’ve had diamonds as light as G, and my square emerald is an I, IIRC.

It’s all subjective, and I love all diamond colors, but something about the warmer stones makes them my favorites, especially in a warm metal setting. Old cuts or new cuts with chunky facets actually look better in warmer color stones, at least to me.

If you happen to like warmer stones, you definitely can get more bang for your buck. A 1.2ct G VS2 GIA 3X will hover right around $10k, an L or an M color with similar specs will hover right around $5k.

Here’s my M, in a cheap white gold 6 prong, and also it its new yellow gold Tulip setting.
