I can finally add mine, we just closed on Thursday and these are from the listing. Although it’s a bit small, I love the island counter already. We will most likely update in a few years but is sufficient for now 🙂

We built our house, so had a lot of say in how the kitchen turned out. They initially had a tiny little island drawn out, but we knew we wanted to have something more proportional to the space, plus, we knew that was where we’d probably eat most of the time.

It doesn’t show up in the photos but we have a quartz called “Starry Night” with mirror flecks in it. It throws rainbows when the light hits it. I call it my disco kitchen.

We put high top stools around the island and it works out perfectly. It’s great for laying out food for parties too. Lots of room for the spread.

🙂

elderbee :  It looked like a kitchen in a hot country and that shade of green looked particularly Australian! Ha Ha.

I do like that whirling dervish fruit bowl.

Well I’m very impressed ! Yes it’s a nice  bowl isn’t it. Turkish . There were  many nice ones in the shop but only this  this dervish one. Obviously I have to go to Turkey soon .

We just finished our renovation! Just need to get the floors stained. Here’s a before and after (we never used the before, it was gutted the day after closing).

Wow! Such beautiful kitchens. All of the houses I’ve lived in had a separate room for kitchen and that doesn’t allow an open space or an isle. That’ll probably be an ungoing dream.

Reign14 :  Cooking in a kitchen with no counters is soooo hard. We’re in a city for a year where we’re renting anf the kitchen is so terrible, no counterspace. I got a big cutting board that I basically put over the sink to do food prep, it’s the worst. It burns me that I have a beautiful kitchen in the home that I own but rent out meanwhile I am lining in an awful rental…probably next year I’ll get myself a decent kitchen until then i’ll look at yours.
