i’m pretty wedded to the lounge idea too.  i have a talented design-y aunt who sketched out some vignettes involving the Ikea Klobo sofa ($149), a bunch of fabric-covered cube ottomans, some gauzy curtains, cut logs of varying heights as tables, and large potted plants.  it will be gorgeous.  and, before labor, well under $1000.

i already bought 4 Ikea loveseats and am having them delivered tomorrow.  plus bought a ton of collapsible cube ottomans at $15 each which I may or may not make covers for. anyone want to buy my lounge setup after my 8/20/11 wedding? i want to recoup as much $$ as possible, but priority goes to somone who can arrive with a truck around 1130pm that night and take it away!

hi, i’ve got the lounge area pretty much planned (thanks to my gifted design-y aunt!).  i’m having 2 of these modules (each is anchored by a tree on the property, with white gauzy curtains, some collapsible storage ottomans for seating, and 2 IKEA sofas).  it’s going to be gorgeous i hope.  also, if you need these items after 8/20/11 and would like to purchase the 4 sofas, 12 ottomans, 20 curtains, or 4 curtain setups, please contact me!  priority will go to whomever can pick up the items from the venue that night after the festivities!

@takingtheplunge: Hi! Your lounge decor sounds great! I am actually planning to have a lounge style cocktail reception for my wedding in December, but I don’t know what I am going to do about seating yet. How much are you asking for it? What state do you live in? I live in Mississippi.

My budget friendly lounge area. Cost $40 total. I wanted something that was easy to move at the end of the night. Ended up giving the pieces away to our friends that helped clean up at the end of the night. Put some cards of the ottoman to entertain the ones that didn’t want to dance.

My entire reception was a lounge area ๐Ÿ™‚ It worked out great. We wanted to have a cocktail hour the entire reception, and people just loved it. Here are a few pictures:

Here is the lounge for our cocktail hour. The bar is also in here so people might hang out here during the reception (although I hope people don’t!-I want everyone in the reception room!)

I love the idea of a lounge area.  My reception venue has an empty room which overlooks the city that I want to convert to a lounge area.  Only problem is, I may have to use the area for food stations, :o(.  Anywho, these inspiration boards are great.
