Buttercream is always better!  If I were going to do it again, though I wouldn’t get orange.  The outer layer of icing tasted like food coloring, but it was still amazing and delicious.

@mintblush:  Yes, I’ve looked at eBay and am tempted, too!  Maybe I could sell it on the classifieds here afterwards…… ๐Ÿ™‚

@abbylyn:  OMG I love this. I’m from Philly and I love sprinkles, reminds me of the Mr Softee cones I used to eat at a kid!

This is what our cake will look like, except with a light gold ribbon and blush colored sugar flowers (I even have the same cake stand!). Yes, it will be all buttercream except for the lace appliques. Our baker does not use fondant at all because she hates the taste, but her cakes look like fondant.

I wish I had a full pic to share – still waiting for my pictures to come back! I only have samples of our wedding…oh well! Here it is ๐Ÿ™‚ it was robins egg bluey green with ivory and gold flowers with vintage lace wrap. <3 love!

Ours was delicious – white chocolate cake with buttercream icing and white chocolate filling & shavings. Mmm.

I don’t have any pics, but have you thought of a naked cake?  Its got filling and cake and that’s it, its not iced at all, but you make it look pretty with whatever decorations you’ve chosen (flowers, etc).  Just a thought.

@peonyinlove: On etsy.  I don’t remember the exact seller, but I know she was located in New Jersey (the topper was a gift from my bridesmaids after my husband and I decided we didn’t want to spend that kind of money on a cake topper).
