vespria:  Thank you, but alexandrite is my birthstone.  And I will admit there was pure jealousy running through my veins when I saw your gem.  THAT is a priceless piece of art.  People do not understand how rare, and expensive a cut like that can be.   It’s truly beautiful.

vespria:  Can I ask what inspired the shape and design of your setting? It’s very beautiful. I hope this doesn’t offend you, but I grew up along Lake Erie and it reminds me a bit of the cool twists of driftwood that I used to collect as a kid.

vespria:  It is tanzanite! I’m also a sucker for marquise cuts. I think they’re so feminine looking.

Your ring is awesome OP!! Here’s mine, let’s see…

Ring Stats: It’s a 4.75 size rose gold ring, with a .65ct round Rose de France center stone, a diamond halo and pink sapphires on the sides. I think it cost around $1000.

Inspiration: I wanted something unique and colorful that would represent my personality, and that also had a vintage-y vibe to it. I’m a very cheerful, bubbly, energetic person, so I wanted my ring to be fun. I chose the rose gold because I like how it compliments my skin tone, and the Rose de France because in my opinion that subtle lavender hue is super delicate and feminine. The diamonds and sapphires I chose just because I thought complimented the overall color scheme pretty well.

Artist/Company: The artist was me!! Lol. I designed it and Gemvara made it.

Timing: Just like you mentioned, I was getting frustrated because I kept seeing the same designs all over the place, so I started looking for build-your-own-ring kinda sites online. And honestly, the only one that had designs that appealed to me was Gemvara, so I went with them. It was the first time I was spending so much money on something that I hadn’t even seen in person, so when I got it, I spent like 10 min staring at the box before opening it, hoping it wouldn’t be just awful and disappointing. But I love the end result.

Reception: Everyone tends to love it. I haven’t received any bad reactions to it, and even if I did, I don’t think I’d care. At the end of the day, I’m the one wearing it, and I absolutely love it. It’s the perfect ring for me.

vespria:  not sure what you consider one of a kind lol but mine is the same as lavenderstone’s but in 18k RG with an Emerald cut diamond. I love vintage designs and I’m crazy about Emerald cut diamonds!

I wouldnt consider mine one of a kind, But it was made by Studio 1040 for my 5year anniversary gift. It’s a 5.1mm sapphire on a 14kt white gold band, Size 4.5. We were married in september which sapphire is the birthstone. I absolutely love how simple and dainty it feels.
