Hi, very new here. When I was flipping between round and oval diamonds this thread was very helpful. We are extremely happy with our choice of oval. The center stone is a 2.2 carat, E color, VVS2. The band has 4 baguettes and 32 round diamonds.

AdorableK:  Wow! What an eyecatching band! And the center stone is so perfect, it’s gorgeous! I would say that center stone is a perfect oval sahpe, I know nothing about the cut but the shape is very very nice.

I love ovals and enjoyed taking a tour of them on this thread. It’s interesting how they vary in shape. I like mine somewhat fat and squat. Some people like theirs elongated, and some have sort of “shoulders” or near-square edges. It is all good.

My SO wanted a solitaire but I wanted bling lol. I like how the oval compliments my long fingers. We are not officially engaged yet. He purchased the diamond and setting from adiamor so we did not get to see the ring in person first. With only 30 days to return he let me try it on for size. I absolutely love it and it fits great. I was just reading about the waiting lists and I would love to try to get my name on one. Forgot to mention it in my first post but my ring size is 5.5.

Here are two RHR s I have that are oval…  I also have an oval sapphire and a blue topaz and a 3 stone petidot.  (Not pictured) I never thought about  how much I love ovals till I saw this post and realized I have several! Anyway here are my  light purple Amethyst and my Almondine Garnet – both antique.

Mine is a 1.62 carat, VS1, Color G. Measurements are 9.45×6.7×4.03mm. I am a size 7 ring. It shows large for its carat size, which is something you should look at when comparing diamonds. I don’t feel like I lost any sparkle or anything, you can see a black bow tie in shallower oval diamonds sometimes in very bright sunlight, but I feel like its definitely worth it to get the bigger look(in my opinion). My fiance got the ring on blue nile and I think he had a really good experience with them, unlike the jewlery store he went into to look previously.
