That is gorgeous!!! I would totally want that for my actual engagement ring! It’s like a little planet and wee orbiting moon 🙂 Would you mind sharing where you got it?
Personally I never had a promise ring per se, but the ring in my profile pic was meant to be an anniversary present… then we began to talk seriously of getting engaged even before the anniversary came around, and I just told him I didn’t need anythign grander than that one. So my little flower cluster became my e-ring 🙂

Around Christmas time 2012 my boyfriend gave me mine. We were surrounded by our friends opening up presents a few days before we had to all leave for winter break (we’re in college) and he made sure it was the very last one I opened. It was inside of a black ring box… inside of a tiny box…. inside of a slightly larger box…. inside a bigger box…. lol the outside box was about the size of a travel coffee maker lmao.

We don’t have promise rings in the UK. What exactly were you promising?

I’m in the UK and hadn’t heard of it, until I came on here.
It’s a promise of a proposal. A pre-engagement I suppose.

Thank you 🙂
I consider promise rings a promise of commitment, not neccesarily a promise of a proposal. Mine was bought after we’d made the decision to get married, but we couldn’t afford a real ering yet. He has a ring too which really is his ering, because we could be pre-engaged/engaged for who knows how long. He’s about to get a job again, so I think my ering will come in the next year.
