@Mrs Grape: Oh and the cat incident made me laugh because I have two cats.  One of them is seriously crazy and would totally do something like that to my ring! So funny! Although I’m sure it wasn’t as funny when it happened!

@TessaDL: I panicked–it’s scary to have a pissed-off cat stuck to your hand! Lol. He is a complete nutcase and sort of mean sometimes (alpha complex), but I love him anyway!

Not a great picture, but my fiance had mine designed. I am a physical therapist so I didn’t want anything that stuck up too far, so it is set flush with the platinum and there is a cut-out that mimics the shape of the diamond, except with a flat bottom. I love it, but right now I am missing it because it went to the jeweler to get polished and matched with the band.

I know I’ve seen at least one other pearl on here, but by and large I pretty much never see pearl engagement rings. I had no input on my ring. It’s an heirloom ring, and although I love it to pieces, it’s likely not what I would have chosen for myself. But that doesn’t make me love it any less. It’s like my husband, he’s what I didn’t know I always wanted until he was right in front of me. Bonus: My surrogate mother gave it to him to give to me, which meant the world to me. Double Bonus: It came as a set, with matching earrings and a teardrop pearl necklace, all of which I wore on our wedding day.

(sorry for the blurry pictures)

@Mrs Sarah McK:  I have a pearl ring, not an e-ring but I hardly wear it.   Is your pearl coated in anything?

I remember reading that pearls are fragile and need a specific humidity/temp to last.  Very curious about the pearl ring, it’s beautiful btw.

Mine’s my avatar too:) it’s not a large pic and I don’t have the matching wedding band as pictured, but it’s a .50 carat blue sapphire/ diamond claddagh that as I know is not sold in jewelry stores in the States (if i’m wrong please correct me:) Mine came from Galway in Ireland and I get a million compliments on it (pics just don’t do it justice-it sparkles like crazy in real life. Love, love all the original rings here:)

I’ll show you my first e-ring. I loved it because it was SO unique, but unfortunately it snagged on everything and scratched my face in the middle of the night 🙁 so we had to return it and get something else. I love my current ring, but my first was definitely me. It’s a bow and it had little diamonds in it (1/10ct- 10k white gold: from Zales)
