@bunnyharriet: i scored a great deal through kijiji. I just love emerald cuts but had a hard time finding them and when I finally did at Barry’s jewel lets (Burlington andHamilton) they were super expensive. 6k. So to ensureeverything was good with the ring, the seller agreed to come with me to a jeweler and had them look it over. The seller also had certification papers that I verified with the company gemsCan.
Don’t know the specs, but I do know it’s near perfect. Center stone is just over 1 ct, and bands each have .5 carats, and .5 for accents on ring, so all together 2.5 carats, and in platinum. I’m going to upgrade to at least a 1.75 ct stone by xmas though because I wanted a larger center. Hubby paid about $13k for it all together. I also have a 6.5 ring size.
I absolutely love my ring…I know some might not but I think it is lovely. 3 3/5 carats.TDW ..Cost $20,700
Mine was my great-grandmother’s, from about 1910. The center stone is 0.7 carats (old European round) and the other 4 (round and baguette) are about 0.4 total. The setting and band is platinum. I just had it appraised and it came in at about $6,000. I love it so much!
Mine is a 1.5ct radiant cut Asha diamond in a Palladium setting. He paid just under $800 for it. I am so happy with it! We could have gotten a “real” e-ring, but to me it seemd foolish to spend that much money on a ring when I could get something just as good for a fraction of the cost 🙂
Just upgraded my stone, smaller but better quality: 1.02 princess, G, VS2, Celebration diamond : After tax we paid about $5500
My Engagement Ring has a 1.0 carat princess cut diamond with a custom 14K white gold setting with .5 tcw diamonds. Price was $7K. My wedding band is .5 tcw 14K white gold and was $1,300.
1.52 carat radiant cut center stone, not sure of more specific specs. Ring was $14k, with the matching band, $16,500. I feel so bad that he spent this much, considering his band was only $300. He wanted titanium.
.70 carats, E color, SI2, 14k white gold. Absolutely perfect 🙂 The stone was set in another ring that the jeweler had been holding on to, so he gave Fiance a great deal. $2000 including taxes.
Mine is a .5ct center stone with 2ctw with wedding band and side stones In 14k white gold. This ring retails for over 4k I believe but my thrifty Fi caught it on sale and after tax and lifetime warranty he walked out just over 3k.
