Mine is a round brilliant .75 ct(G & VS1) and 1 ct total weight. Fiance only had to pay for the setting as the diamond was gifted to us from my mother. I believe the setting cost around $1000. We just got the ring appraised for $5000 though. I absolutely love it and I think pictures don’t do it justice!

@musician32992:  holy moly, your setting is gorgeous. if you dont want to keep that as a engagement ring you are crazy. just get a oval diamond or moissy to replace the center to make it more blingy.

it. is. amazing! where did you get the ring??

My ring is 2 ct center stone with 2 ct tw setting 18 ct white gold. My fiance is a jeweler so wha he paid is not nearly what retail would be.  Honestly, regardless if your fiance pays $5 or $50,000, it’s all about the sentiment and the symbolism, not the price tag!

my pretty little lovely! I have no idea of specs or anything as we bought this little beauty from the pawn shope I work at, for $350 with my 20% discount! It’s 1.78 carats, 7 approx. .25-.28 round cut diamonds in a 14k white gold setting, I love vintage jewelry and this one is circa 1950-1958. The wedding band, which I don’t have a picture of is a circa 1920’s half halo style with some filigree designs on the side, 5 very tiny single cut diamonds! I love them both so very much, this photo does no justice for it’s sparkle! But yes, we really only paid $350 for this ring, and it is absoltely perfect!

I seriously loved going through this thread. Thanks so much for sharing photos and price. I read every post. Gorgeous rings and it’s always interesting to see the range in specs/prices.

I waited to get my appraisal to post my brand new ering here. ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s a custom designed 14k white gold ring from the NSC. The center stone is a .71 ct. untreated/unheated greenish-blue Montana sapphire, round mixed brilliant cut. It has perfect clarity and the color grade is medium strong (I preferred a lighter color). It appears aquamarine in the sun and a silver-blue under indoor lighting. The setting has .58 cts TW of diamonds. Price included warranty and lifetime cleaning/replating, etc. We paid around $1,500 for it and it appraised at around $2,000.

Sorry for the crappy cell-phone camera pics; my laptop has been broken. ๐Ÿ™ The photos do not do it justice IMO. ๐Ÿ˜€

@bunnyharriet: Thank you so much!! I’m not planning on getting a band. I prefer how swirl/split shank rings look without a band. We had a limited budget of about $1,500 to work with for everything, and I decided to have one nice ring rather than 2 that I felt I had compromised on in quality/appearance. Maybe one day (10 year anniversary?) when we have extra money I’ll get a fantastic wedding band to wear on my right hand or to occasionally stand in for my ering. ๐Ÿ™‚

Your ring is absolutely beautiful and I think the price you are paying sounds reasonable. What kind of band do you plan on getting?

    So many beautiful rings!

I have a 2.04 cushion cut centre stone, with a pave halo setting which has about .5 carat of diamonds.

The cushion diamond is G colour and it sparkles so much!

    I love my ring!
