sparklebeeesq :  Definitely thinking about a marquise and dot band like yours. That or a channel set. Nothing too sparkly as to distract from my engagement ring! 🙂

tbenjamin4884 :  Thank you! I’ve known from the very beginning that I wanted something other than a diamond, and I absolutely adore the meaning behind morganite.

My ring was actually purchased at an estate sale at my local jewelers! And yes, it’s rose gold. As far as I know, there isn’t another one like it. My ring would definitely be huge on small fingers, but I think it balances out pretty nicely with my big ones. 🙂

tbenjamin4884 :  thank you OP. You are very sweet! I’m glad that you finally found THE ONE in a ring. The pear/tear drop called to me as I thought it was different and really flattering. I knew I wanted one before we started looking, but I was 100% and wanted to try on other shopes. Never did as once I was this one on display there was no other for me! I’ve had her for 13 years now and really love all shapes, but still love my pear.

tbenjamin4884 :  Thank you for the lovely comments :). he worked with a jeweler and tweaked the design a bit so it’s kinda custom, but it was cast for me.  I’m 6’2, so I definitely qualify as an amazon ;). And I’ll jist be getting a plain silver band with no embellishments, I want the emerald to be the star of the show.

tbenjamin4884 :  Honestly I do the same thing when I’m antique shopping. I tend to ask a lot of questions and I think I weird out the sales person half of the time. lol. I wish I knew more of my ring’s history. Sadly my jeweler couldn’t give me much of a background other than the woman said she obtained the ring sometime in the 1950’s or before. So my ring might be around 60+ years old, which is insane to me. The woman obviously took very good care of her jewelry.

I’m a very spiritual person and I work with gems and crystals a lot, so morganite has special meaning to me in that apsect. Morganite stands for love, compassion, empathy and patience.

It’s also my favorite stone. 😉

Then the layout of my ring, the 3 stones (past, present and future) was important to me symbolically, but it’s hard to find a morganite ring like that with a halo. That’s why we were originally designing my ring and then we saw this. Fate is a funny thing, because the ring we were designing would have cost 2-3 times more than what I have now. And personally I think this ring is way more beautiful than what we were designing!

tbenjamin4884 :  You have to read the following with a valley-girl accent (totally not my style, but that’s the mood I’m in.) “Oh heyyy, gurl, just popping in to say hiiii.”… Maybe I should put the wine down?… I hope nobody judges me; Monday and I have a wine in my hand… Nah, judge away, I’ll just keep enjoying this sauvignon blanc!

Now to more serious business, read the last few posts, because I love this thread and all of its happiness. And, you continue to amaze me. Everything from the stigma of the pear, to the “letting it go”, words to live by! I’m learning to let go of a lot of anger (and sadness) but it’s easier said that done. You are one kickass (<– can I say that on here?) woman!
