My fiance and I are getting ready to design my engagement ring (I’m currently wearing a CZ “placeholder” ring). As I’m looking at settings, I’ve had a hard time deciding what kind of metal I want. I’ve always been really drawn to 14K rose gold, but at first I told myself that it was too “trendy” and that I might hate it later. Nevertheless, anytime I would look at rings, I just kept coming back to it. I just love the warmth and pinkish hues of rose gold and I feel that it complements my skin tone better than white gold or yellow gold. After much thought, I think I’ve decided that nearly all engagement ring trends come and go and that I should really just get what I like the most. So right now, I’m leaning very heavily towards rose gold!
So bees with rose gold e-rings or wedding sets, please post your bling! I’d love to see it and get some inspiration!

I always thought I’d end up with white gold, but I fell head-over-heels for rose gold! I also used to worry a little about it being too “trendy”, but in the end, it’s what I love (and what I think fits my rose-shaped setting best too!)
Here are some shots of my 14k rose gold in different lightings 🙂

For mine, I chose what color metal complemented the stone best and it was rose gold. The band is yellow gold.

citizenerased14 : Wow, your ring is stunning! I love the rose-shaped setting. I’ve never seen anything quite like that before!
widget01 : Beautiful! I love rose gold with pink gemstones. What kind of stone is that? My fiance and I live in Maine, where lots of tourmaline is to be found and is considered the state gemstone. It comes in many colors, including pink, which I’m seriously considering incorporating into my engagement ring . I think it would be especially with the rose gold! I also love the combo of YG and RG. Thank you for sharing!
wrkbrk : I really love your set. I keep going back and forth between a solitaire and or adding a couple of side-stones. Also, I love your wedding band as the width is a bit thicker than a lot i’ve looked at. That’s exactly what I want for mine too.
azallie : Omg, the rose gold of your band really makes your stones pop! I love it!

It’s hilarious, because if you search back through WB for rose gold rings, people have been saying that they’re “trendy” for at least 8 years, yet they’re still going strong. At this point, I think it’s absolutely safe to say that rose gold has established itself alongside the other colors of gold; it may go through waves of being more or less popular, but it’s been long enough to avoid the “trendy” label.
I got mine earlier this year and am SO happy I didn’t play it safe and go for white gold. Yellow and rose gold look so rich, compared with white metals which often look like sterling silver to me.

thepuzzledpeach : no problem! Mine’s a sapphire. I love your idea of tourmaline, that sounds like it would be beautiful

Peach sapphire in rose gold. There was no question for me – rose gold looks the best on my skin tone. Here’s a couple of photos because she changes in the light.

I always thought I would have a white gold ring (since that’s what I mostly wear), but Fiance surprised me with this beauty and I love it!

I had a yellow gold ring when I got married in 2005 and we upgraded in 2013 and I chose white gold. This past Christmas my hubby got me a moissanite in rose gold for travel but honestly i wear it more than my diamond. I love rose gold and think it’s so timeless and romantic!!! If it’s what you want I say go for it I don’t think you’ll regret it!
