I have a sapphire and its 1.65ct. cushion on a 4.5 finger. Sapphires don’t really save you a WHOLE lot of money compared to a diamond that isn’t a brand name… but they’re still purdy. =)

Oh and if you’re only planning on keeping it for a year or so then maybe not a sapphire. Sapphires are meant to last like diamonds and since they’re still precious stones like a diamond they are more expensive.

But they do sparkle (certain colors) especially when combined with diamonds. What color were you thinking?

@MrsLevell2Be:  Thank you! Okay! Well white sapphires are clear and then moissanites are too. I’m not sure what your budget is like, but both are still probably going to be a little bit more expensive, but still not as much as a diamond. =) Moissanites are the ones that would reflect light more like a diamond though. I hope that someone with a clear gemstone will post on here!

Here: This was a white sapphire center but I had it changed to a Signity CZ. The centerstone is 1 ct (6.5mm) round. I am not sure what the ct weight is in the halo…it is a smallish halo which measures about 8-9 mm in diameter. I wanted something that looked reasonably

I should add that I have really short fingers and my finger size is 6.5-7. the ring is a size 7 due to funky knuckles (several broken fingers over my lifetime from riding nasty ponies).

My halo is diamonds but the center stone is a pink topaz. It’s 3 1/2 carats on a size 6 finger.

Also just to add the center stone is 9mm. I know its good to know these things when it comes to gemstones because different carat weight for different stones with be a different mm.

@MrsLevell2Be:  Signity is a brand of CZ that is less expensive than either Wink or Asha. It is produced by Swarovsky. They look good….better than the average CZ but not as good as wink or asha (from what I hear).
