@ShutterbugCait:  My fiance and I want a husky terribly. This is totally based off looks and interactions on the street so it really isn’t something we’re pursuing just yet. We still have to do our research and get a place with a yard/not a studio apartment.

Anyway, my point is, keep posting pictures and I’ll tell you how beautiful your pup is!

@ShutterbugCait:

This is my Dante (with his Buster hiding under the table)! I adore my Husky and would have 5 of them if my Fiance would let me get away with it (and I didn’t have to deal with the shedding!)! Dante has had obedience training and advanced obedience trainging, and he is still a handful! Buster has settled him a little, but he has also gotten Buster to misbehave in ways that he didn’t before, ie; the escaping.

@OrigamiLove: Definitely do the research. They are very much the escape artist. Dante learned to climb the fence when we blocked all of the other ways out. They shed like no one’s business. They REALLY don’t like being alone. But in all of the bad, (don’t worry, you learn ways to help make it better, like a second dog for the loneliness) they are wonderful dogs with amazing qualities. Our family is his pack, he is all about pleasing his people, he is loving and fun, he has the most AMAZING personality!!! Our Husky does a chest bump. He will run up to Fiance, jump, tuck his legs, hit FI’s chest with his shoulder and chest, and then land on his feet. A friend of ours’ Husky loves Dr. Pepper. He will go open the fridge, get one out and go drop it in his person’s lap, then sit and look at him waiting for him to open it. Incase you didn’t catch this in all of that…they watch humans and mimick things they see. Can be good and bad.

No matter what…they are always fun!!!!

That’s my 9 1/2 month old Siberian Husky. Maya Dog πŸ™‚ I can’t resize the pictures, but I freaking loovve herr. She is a lap dog, and snuggles better than anyone else. She’ll let you hold her on your side, picture how you would hold a baby – legs on either side of your hips and her stomach on the side of yours lmao. She sits in my lap, sleeps with Darling Husband and I, and knows High Five, Shake, Sit, Lay, Kisses, Hugs, Earmuffs, and DH’s favorite: Right. Where he says “Maya-RIGHT!” and she does a complete right turn haha

She is so, so spoiled. It’s unbelievable.

@ShutterbugCait:  +1 on seperation anxiety. She loses her shit if my husband leaves the house and it’s just us two alone, or vice versa. Anytime she even THINKS we’re leaving her she crryyyys and wimpers and whines.  They’re also stubborn as all get out, we just finally got her potty trained at 9 months. Uhg

Awww!!!  I LOVE all the huskies!! I have a malamute, so I can’t play…but sled dogs/arctic breeds are so awesome.  They are very headstrong and a little difficult to train, but only because they are so incredibly smart that they get bored really easily.  I want a whole freakin’ sled dog team someday.  πŸ™‚

Ahhh…screw it.  He gets mistaken for a husky about five times a day anyways!  Here he is with a real husky pup at the dog park:

And here he is with his dog park pack:

@mrs_pugetsound:  You and my husband would get along great, he wants like 10 more Huskys, I would never get another one just because i’ve never had a “big” dog, so Maya is new to me, it’s weird to lay down with her and her come up to my chin (can you tell we’re snugglers? lmao) She was so so miserable to house train I don’t think I could get another, I’ll just enjoy her while we have her.

@mrs_pugetsound:  I love your dog too.

They’re all so pretty.

ETA: Are huskies totally off limits if you have a cat? Or can they get along?

@mrs_pugetsound:  Ahhh! He’s HUGE! The husky on the left is about the size my dog is, and wow he’s big! So so cute. I didn’t make the thread but I welcome all the Mal’s too πŸ™‚

@ShutterbugCait:  YES! A thousand times yes, I told Darling Husband I was going to glue googly eyes on this and set it in a basket outside the neighbors door and see what they thought lmao This is from Maya @ like 6 months..(fall time)

@Kkaattii:  LOL  Yeah…I’ve never had a dog at all until this one, so he was a BIG shock to raise!  I hear you on the potty training…those first months are awful.  But all the “wooing” and snuggles and love make up for it!!  Do huskies “talk to sirens” too?  It always makes me laugh when my mal does!

 @MissBoPeep:  That’s a good question!  I’ve heard they are very “prey-driven,” but I’m not sure if it makes a difference if they are around cats as a small puppy or not.  ??
