So, turns out when the chalkboard paint spray can says “DO NOT USE IN HIGH HUMIDITY” in huge honkin letters, they mean it. I live in Florida, and went to put my 2nd coat on just one of the glass frame inserts, and it totally bubbled up.
I have been 100% stubbornly stuck on the idea of taking a bunch of ornate big picture frames I have and DIY’ing chalkboards for the insert, for the following signs:
Welcome to xx and xx wedding (for when guests drive into the venue gate and need to know where parking is)
Sign for the deck directing people to more bathrooms/smoking area
Sign for the guestbook table
1. Anybody have alternative ideas to doing a chalkboard look without spraying chalkboard paint in the Florida summer heat? Spraying inside = not an option. I can wait till like October (wedding’s in Nov) but if it still doesn’t work I don’t want to be scrambling around at the last minute.
2. Any other sign ideas! Show me your signs!
