I was worried what my bustle would look like with my dropped waist/flared bottom chiffon dress too. My tailor did a customized lowered American bustle where it truly flows/blends in with the rest of the dress and does not ruin the look. It still lightly skims the ground but allows for movement. I don’t have pics yet as my final fitting is next week. I will try to post some pics of it then.

So here’s my dress, with a five point French bustle.. it’s not quite right in the picture, since the “points” are still just saftely pins at this point.. but I personally found that, for chiffon, the French/under bustle works better for both looks and security (in terms of staying). I hope this helps.. I remember searching for *weeks* for a solution to chiffon bustles!!

PS. I don’t know why it’s sideways. Sorry. 🙁

@BellaDee:  Yes ma’am! The back is normally pretty basic.. it’s an A-line/sheath with a small chapel train. 🙂 At the very least, maybe you now know what you don’t want to do..?

@BellaDee:  I think it’s a french bustle….I wouldn’t worry about it too much, your seamstress will be able to think of a wonderful bustle 🙂
