I’m thinking of getting a ring to wear instead of my double halo when I travel or want something smaller on my hand to avoid unwanted attention on my jewelry. I’m not a fan of cz sets, so I’m looking for an affordable option with a 14k band and some kind of gemstone (maybe an aquamarine or topaz) that I could also wear in a stack on my right hand.
All ring ideas and seller recommendations are welcome!

Here’s my 6×4 mm emerald I wear when I travel. However I do usually take my ering for nice dinners or shows but I don’t really worry about unwanted attention, I guess it never crosses my mind. I wear this just for comfort and I don’t have to be so careful because my ering has a lot of pave diamonds. Both pics for reference. Keep us posted on what you decide!

I have a sterling silver 1.25 CZ ring that I got for trying on the stone size so sometimes I use that
but in your case how about white sapphire or zircon or moissanite? They are all gemstone and clear if you prefer but it’s not CZ and more affordable than another diamond of the same equivalent size especially since you want a gold setting. Just something to consider 🙂
ETA: whoops I see your open to color lol
my promise ring is rhodolite garnet or pink tourmaline in 14k white gold-can’t remember but it is small and so comfy! I usually wear it on my right hand now

SabL22 : your garnet ring is beautiful! That’s exactly the kind of ring I’m looking for. Not sure which gemstone I’ll go for but a similar style.

erinebee1 : the “problem” with my ring is that it looks more expensive than it was. I’m not complaining, but it’s very out there and sparkly so yeah, sometimes I feel uncomfortable having people staring at it even if I love it. Plus there are moments when I just like to have minimal jewelry on me.
I love emeralds but I’m so clumsy I’m afraid I’ll scratch it immediately. I’m thinking a green tourmaline could do the trick maybe.

I don’t usually switch rings for travel, but I do switch for warmer weather. And I will wear certain rings when traveling to a warm destination. I have two anniversary rings, both of which are heavier or wider settings, and I can’t stand the feel of a heavy ring when the weather is hot and my fingers swell more.
When I want something smaller or lighter, I switch back to my original engagement ring (I know … this is kind of backwards. LOL). It has a smaller center stone and a lighter, simpler setting.
Or I have a yellow sapphire solitaire I wear. This is a more recent addition for me. It was my birthday gift from my husband this year.
I also have a London Blue Topaz solitaire I wear. It’s a larger stone, but a light setting.
