My dress budget was “under $1000 WITH alterations!”

…I spent $1430 on the dress alone.

my budget was also as little as possible, but didn’t take SYTTD’s advice and ended up with a designer gown….. which i also knew from the begining this would happen =)

My dress was $2100 for a preowned (but not pre-worn) gown, maybe not quite the splurge price of some of these other FABULOUS designer gowns I see here. But the cost of the rest of my entire wedding is around $10,000, so ratio wise I’m WAY over where you’re technically supposed to be for a wedding dress (completely don’t care though). So when you take that into account it’s QUITE the splurge on my part. But I knew going into my wedding exactly where MY splurge was going to be. I already paid for it in full on a no interest 18 month credit card and will have it paid off by summer!

@lovelyduckie:  Definitely counts as a splurge AND lovely dress!! And I did the 18-month no APR credit card thing too and will eventually have it paid off. So I’m at peace with how everything turned out.

Though if you had told me a year ago how much I would have spent on my dress I would have laughed in your face.

I gave myself a pep talk before I went shopping that even though my mom was buying my dress, I would NOT even try on any dresses that cost over $2500. I said this over and over in my head! Then, at the second bridal store, there it was-sparkling in the window- lights shining down on it- the most beautiful and unique dress I’d seen!

My mom very generously purcahsed my Rivini Paulette at $6,800. It’s absolutely perfect and I am so grateful!

@RexManningDay:  Same, when I decided to get a “used” dress I was thrilled at the idea of getting a designer I liked for under $1000 (and there were other options I liked right in that range). But THIS was love. I’ve never had a moment of dress regret even when I see other gowns. I’m glad to meet someone else who’s as wacky for no interest deals as me. We plan on opening a card a month or so before the big day and putting our catering expenses (plus a few others) on it.

After all money today is worth more than money tomorrow 😉

So originally I wanted to stay around 2500-3000 but bumped it up to 3500 when i fell for a dress at a salon where the consultant forgot to ask me about my budget. That dress ended up needing major alterations to be my dress so it was out. My dress was 3800 but after a discount came to 3600. Love it and no regrets.
