I’m going for my first fitting next month, and I have no idea how to bustle my dress.
Show me your bustle on your trumpet or mermaid dress!

Wow, your bustle is so unique and pretty! How does it work? I have a lace dress and would love to have something like this 🙂

Thanks! I definitely wanted something different and unique. It worked perfect for the train which was heavy from the material. It was really simple too~
It was set up by my samstress with ribbnons underneath. I can’t remember exactly how many points there were (I’ll have to take a peek) but it was easier than it looked. Since no one in my weddng party lives up here in Alaska and my wedding was in FL, my seamstress color coded the ribbons so when my mom in FL was doing the bustle, she knew what ribbons to tie together.

My BM’s don’t live that far, but they live far enough! I’m considering the ribbons because it’d be way easier for them to figure out than searching for hooks on the dress!

I did a french bustle with something like 9 points… I can’t remember exactly.

Right! And it still shows off the embroidery, It is a simple one point over bustle (I think that is what its called) It worries me a bit that it might not be enough but the seamstress changed it from a hook to a button, I’m not in love with it because now I have a button on my ass but oh well! It is much sturdier and odds are it won’t rip out when I’m dancing (I hope)
