I’ve seen some comments about people being “shocked” that my dress has two types of fabric (satin with tulle). I’d love to see other brides with dresses that mix/match two or more different types of fabric!
Here is my F05174 (Lola) by Jayne Lewis.

I don’t have a dress to show but I think your dress is gorgeous and the two differnt materials work really well together!

The pictures I got at the salon were awful so I’m just throwing up a picture of the model in it – but mine is satin w/tulle as well and I love it!

Mine is Beverly Hills by Watters.

This is the dress that I want. It’s lace and organza. I think your dress looks beautiful by the way!

My dress is taffeta on top, and the skirt is satin underneath with an organza overlay.
(Ignore the derp face, this is the best dress pic I have)

@mrsbruff2b: lol, I remember that comment and thought it was funny! Your dress is beautiful, but “different strokes for different folks” I guess. My dress is only one fabric, but I tried on several ball gown/princessy dresses that were similar to yours: heavier fabric on the bodice and tulle for the skirt. I think it’s a lovely look!

@DawnUndecided: Oh my goodness, if you try on/buy that dress, please post pictures!! That dress was my dream dress inspiration and I’ve never seen it on a real bride.

@DawnUndecided: OMG :-O that dress is to DIE FOR! love love love it.
and to the OP…i think it’s common to have different materials on the dress why would anyone freak out?? lol that’s just silly to me! But I guess, traditionally, the dresses used to be all one material. But i love the look you have, it’s pretty!

@DawnUndecided: I love the intricacy on the top and then how simply it flows on the bottm!!
@Kant: I love the overlay effect!! It’s so romantic!
@SugerPlum: I agree with you~ But I didn’t realize that a two-fabric dress was so shocking LOL
@Bride2BeeVA28: WOW. The top is so elegant and the bottom so flowy and whimiscal!

Not dramatic, but my dress was satin, with a crinkled chiffon overlay on the bodice part…

Close-up of the overlay…

@mrsbruff2b: Thank you! That’s exactly why I picked it. Your dress is lovely and I don’t think two fabric dresses are unusual at all. Satin and tulle is a beautiful combination.
