Here is my original on the right and my custom birthday gift/10+ years upgrade on the left.
My original ering was an antique style, .75ct princess halo with .50ct in pave stones all around, in white gold. I love it but tends to snag on everything and causes an ongoing sore on my finger under it. I work with my hands so it wasn’t the best for things like welding or painting and it would easily get dented, gunked up, and lost several stones.
My upgrade is this custom pear. Much bigger 2.7ct chubby pear and warmer a J in color, yellow gold this time, in a simple but secure 8 prong cathedral setting. I had found a vintage setting that I liked and had a custom setting made based on the pictures and a few tweaks I wanted.

aquababe : I’m absolutely drooling over your upgrade. The diamond is stunning, loving the LW ratio!! And this is the first time I’ve seen an 8 prong setting and I’m convinced it’s the way to go now for any pears! gorgeoussss!!!

I am loving these! I especially love the idea of combining the Moissy and diamonds.

hisfavoritewife : holy crap…adore your original! May I ask where it was purchased?

My original e-ring is a 1.33 radiant H color SI2, and 9 months after our wedding (2 weeks ago lol) I upgraded the center stone to a 1.7 cushion I color VS1. The higher quality of the cushion is very apparent with this side by side. Im a bit of a (self admitted) snob when it comes to my diamonds and my Darling Husband was ok with the upgrade to the better, and BIGGER!, stone.
