@musician32992:  OOOOOOH wow, that antique-inspired ring is so beautiful – I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite like that before!  You’ll have to post pics when you get it!

My original ring was a .26 center diamond with accent diamonds and rubies. Last year Darling Husband upgraded my ring to a 1.71 diamond solitaire.

My hubby proposed with a 1ct diamond solitaire (i-j color…I2 clarity). Last November he bought me a three stone enhanced moissanite ring…but the ring didn’t sit flush with the wedding band and i hate curved wedding bands. a week ago i traded my diamond solitaire for my fb moissanite ring set. i am very pleased and they r my forever rings 🙂

Here was my first ring. Not a very flattering pic of the stone though… office lighting sucks Undecided

Upgrade. Believe it or not, same stone. Just slightly better lighting.

I dont know how you guys get such great pictures of your rings…I cannot seem to do it. anyway here is my last upgrade (second ring), which I disliked intensely. I went for size (1.7 ct) over anything else and that was a huge mistake. In som light it looked ok but it was often dark and dead. I do like some warmth, but this was almost yellow-grey, not buttery-warm. After trying to sell it forever, I finally did and with some extra funds from Fiance plus some I put in, I ended up (after a lot of searching,  the stone below. It needs a new setting, as the prongs are a bit wonky (obviously reset) and the yellow is coming through (not sure if it was white gold that needs dipping, or if it was yelow gold that was dipped to make it look like white gold). I am on the search for a new setting but I want a Tiffany repro classic solitaire and it will take me a while to save for the one in platinum I really want. The stone presents quite nicely with a lot of sparkle and it is fairly white, so I am happy. It does have some carbon in certain positions that are visible but overall I am happy with the color and the cut. It measures 6.38mm and I was told it was 1 ct (so somewhere between .96 – 1.00 is my guess) excus the terrible picture…I just cannot get a good one of any ring!!!!

@ponyrider:  Let me add that the picture of the larger stone looks much nicer than the actual stone in erson- lol. In addition, th picture of the new stone is horrific and it is quite acceptable in person.

I wasn’t on the board a month ago, so I hope it’s all right if I “resurrect” this thread. Now that I’ve gotten over feeling shy about it, I seem to be a picture-posting-fool. Run for your lives! Tongue Out

We recently (a week + 1 day ago … whee!) upgraded my ring. It was a combination of a 15-year upgrade and a Christmas gift. Originally, I went in to get a new wedding band, but walked out with this, instead! (It’s still a surprise — ha, ha!)

This is both rings together. The bottom ring is my original Ering. The top one is the upgrade. Putting them together like this made me laugh because there are certain similarities between the settings. I guess I really do “like what I like”.

ORIGINAL RING: ~ .50 -.55 center stone … H color … side stones are two rounds and two baguettes. I don’t remember the exact size or the other stats for it or the setting. I think the total weight was around .75-.80. Set in yellow gold.

UPGRADE: .90 center stone … E color … SI2 (eye clean) … 1.5 in the setting … G-H color … princess cut and invisible-set (the setting has 32 stones). Set in platinum.

(I hate how my hands look in pictures like this. I swear they don’t look this awful in real life! LOL)

This isnt really an upgrade but more like a replacement.  I lost my 1.2 carat diamond solitaire.. and replaced it with a neil lane set. 2.00 carat total.

My ring is more of a downgrade than an upgrade, since it cost a lot less than my ering, and I didn’t go for bigger bling. I love my original set, but don’t wear it too often because it’s high set.  A few months after getting engaged I realized what I REALLY wanted was a low profile 5 stone, and about a year and a half later, Darling Husband got me one!  I really wanted a ring I never had to take off and didn’t have to baby.  So far my ring fits both of those criteria, and I love it.

My wedding set (which I still have and need to resize):

My “upgrade” (which I got this Valentine’s Day):
