So I wanted to move away from diamond for my upgrade mainly for ethical, ecological and financial reasons. So we upgraded my .75 carat ideal cut round diamond for a 2.2 ct FB moissanite. The moissanite performs much like my diamond did, since my diamond reflected lots of color due to its cut. The only difference is size and the fact that the moissy is even clearer! The sparkle is not “unbelievable”, it sparkles like ideal diamonds do, and it’s beautiful. 😍😍😍💍💍💍 here’s mine, show me yours!
I’ve named her Celestia 🌒🌞🌚 okay, enough about me… can’t wait to see yours!!!!

I had a few upgrades I had a gold band at first then I had a sears small diamond ring 100$ then a 200$ Walmart diamond ring with small composite setting it looked antique but but just wasn’t bug enough..so eventually I shopped around for like a year and finally got a 3 CT black diamond. Finally satisfied.

nice! Sometimes it takes us a while to figure out what we really want. That stone of yours has some serious finger coverage!

I had a princess cut solitaire for 10 years. Which I had to get cut off as you can tell in the first picture lol. These are all the “upgrades” I made last year until I was happy. I reset the diamond into a few halos that didn’t work out. The diamond looked yellow compared to the side diamonds. And I didn’t like the way the princess cut was fitting in halos. Along with finding out part of the reason my finger was swelling was because I developed an allergy to white gold. So hubby sold my diamond and we traded in our mounting and started fresh. A slightly bigger whiter diamond. And then after awhile we remounted it in a halo and got me a new wedding band as well. I can’t believe hubby didn’t divorce me after all the ring stress lol

Mine might not be considered an upgrade by some. My original e ring is a family heirloom. The setting is showing some wear, so I got a new set and only wear my original set on special occasions. I consider it an upgrade because my new diamond is much bigger and the new set is platinum.

This is maybe useless to you but I had similar problems with the white gold and after trying some older white gold rings (they were white usually because of a blend of platinum or palladium in the gold) on I found out that I was really allergic to rhodium, which they plate white gold with. I have unplated white gold and it’s still naturally lighter than the yellow gold and looks beautiful. 🙂 Look into that! It might help. 🙂

Until seeing your stone I didn’t realize a black diamond could sparkle, I do love it, it’s an amazing stone.
LOVE that stack, especially the original band, such a great gorgeous pattern.
Love the thread!!!

actually when I got it rhodium plated my skin irritation would clear up, but it only lasted a few weeks and it would start again. The dr said I developed dishydrotic eczema. And nickel, stress, and allergies make it flare up.

I’m allergic to white gold as well. You do have a sweet hubby! They come to accept our ways, I suppose haha. Glad you found one you’re happy with!

Not really an upgrade per say, my ering was a family heirloom that for whatever reason irritated my finger to no end, I came to the point where I was never wearing it and used stand-ins instead. So DH surprised me with an anniversary ring for our two year this month. It’s a half carat forever one moissanite with sapphire side stones, and the metal is palladium which so far is not destroying my skin. I’d not so subtley hinted at liking this style…

hi! It’s gel Polish called Macchiato and the brand is Sensational. Only one drug store carries the brand here in Canada though so I’m not sure if they have it anywhere else. I bought three of them lol. I’m obsessed!!!
