    Hello bee,

i got married just over a month ago.

i was initially unsure as to what kind of veil to go for. My dress had some very intricate back detailing and a tulle blush coloured ball gown skirt so i knew it needed to be sheer enough not to distract from the back of the gown and long enough so that it didn’t end abruptly.

Eventually I decided on a custom made Ivory, lace trimmed veil that fell just longer than the train on my dress.

I had a lot of advice before the wedding saying that a long veil would be uncomfortable and annoying And would keep falling out. I disagree. My veil was so light and my hairdresser fixed it in so well that it wasn’t a problem at all! In fact I kept it in for the entire day!

I *think* it was the right choice?

No I didnt bustle the vei, I just danced! Most of the time it was fine, guests were fully aware of my big dress which meant that they were also aware of the veil. When it did get super busy on the dance floor I looped the veil over my arm. It wasnt a problem at all!

I tried this one on with my dress it went perfectly it’s a fingertip length and the lace detailing around the edge went great with it:

that last pic isn’t my dress but another pic with the veil I ended up getting! :+)

I am getting married in church next July. I love vintage but struggled to find any vintage dresses I liked, so, I decided to go for a vintage cathedral veil!! My lace veil is from the 1960s and is immaculate as it has never been worn. Im toatally in love but have had the odd doubt as it is 12ft long! Love veils, so romantic! my veil

my veil is the one in my profile pic. i have posted before but here it is again…. it was one of my favorite parts of my day. it was a drape veil i  had custom made from a wonderful seller on etsy, and my headpiece was from amazon!! it was about fingertip length.

I don’t have a picture w/ it on, but I fell in love with this cathedral drop veil to go w/ my lace trumpet style dress.

monaleo:  I didn’t originally plan on going with a long veil, but my stylist said it would really make my dress, and he was SO right. Kept it plain and simple, and got some amazing shots in the wind:

The drop veil I ordered below! It just came in and it’s beautiful! Looks just like this except I had rhinestones added to very bottom of the train cascading up.
