I found my rose cut diamond above at a pawn shop this past summer.  This OEC is just under 1.25 carat, had some chips on the girdle so reset it into six prongs and now I don’t even notice the chips!  Plus I only paid $600 for it.

That’s a beautiful ring and so unique! I think it’s a great price for it! I don’t have a ring but I got this 7 stone 1/2ct princess cut necklace from a pawn shop for $100. I liked that it matches my princess cut wedding ring so I bought it. I don’t know how good the diamonds are but had them tested and they are real, white and sparkly so I’m happy! Congrats on your great find!

I found this looking through some old stuff today. It has an appraisal for $6500 from the 1940s. It says it has a 1.5 carat center stone.

I’d never wear it. It is totally not my style. It belonged to a long passed relative. I have no idea what to do with it, but it is definitely different…and very sparkly.

This post makes me want to visit some pawn shops!

Here are my rings — both preloved! The emerald cut band, which serves as my engagement ring, was a vintage find (and bargain). It was custom made in the 1960s — 1.75 ct (.25 ct each) of E/F VVS2 stones set in platinum. I got to talk to the family it belonged to before me, and I love carrying their story with me. The small band was purchased on our honeymoon. It was preowned, but I’m pretty sure its modern rather than vintage.

This is the best picture I have of  this ring. I don’t know the carat weight but Im guessing it’s around 4.-.5. Its an old European cut, the setting is a reproduction

I purchased a .4 (approximately) carat Transitional (OEC) cut, in a little funky yellow gold solitaire with an illusion head. I purchased it for $350 at a pawn shop. I think its in the VS range and color, I am not sure but I don’t see any yellow and I am pretty color sensitive. And then I just purchased my 1.10 carat 1/2 eternity channel set band. stones are SI quality but very clean stones. I paid $600 for it. My mom on the same day that I got the band, purchased a ring advertised as a .25 carat band, but it was actually a .50 carat and she paid $250 for it and then she purchased a GORGEOUS 4+ carat tcw diamond and 4+ carat tcw sapphire tennis bracelet. Its 18K gold. The diamonds are VS1 quality and the Sapphires are graded AAA. I wont say what she paid for it and I wont say what it appraised for, but the two numbers are on opposite sides of the spectrum and she made an incredible find. It was the find of the century. ๐Ÿ™‚ Here are my two pawn shop finds.

kitty2k :

l absolutely love your emerald cut eternity/engagement ring. Is the other one your wedding ring? If not, what would, I think, look wonderful with the emerald cut, would be a plain metal band the same width.
Regardless, a beautiful ring..

Actually, all these ring are lovely

I got this for $500 and I’m using it as a RHR. I’m going back to the pawn shop today to see if they have any nice diamond earrings:)
