Circa 1930’s-early 1940’s : my grandmother’s engagement ring :3

Also. My diamond is vintage – an heirloom, old European cut. The ring is modern, designed with a vintage feel.

engagement ring is his paternal grandmother’s 1940’s illusion setting .38 carat ring. It has a European cut center stone that sparkles so beautifully! Also two little diamonds on each side that sparkle alors too!  Me wedding band is a .68 CT noon vintage. 🙂

I love seeing all your beautiful vintage rings!

I forgot to come back and post the finished results of my engagement ring after our re-design!

My fiancé and I  I have both designers, and did not like any modern designs, nor did we want to buy modern diamonds for environmental and political reasons. so instead we sourced an antique/Deco diamond engagement  ring, with a central Old European cut diamond (OEC)  and a mixture of OEC and old mine, cut diamonds forming the cluster  called a crossover ring. The design represents two individuals – is 2 row of diamonds- joined by love-the large diamond in the centre .

We decided to re-design it from that heavier clunky setting into a more refined delicate one in platinum.

We later found The jeweller had under estimated the full carat weight of our ring estimating it at .97ct for central stone and appx 1ct total for the smaller ones.

Can you imagine our delight when we found out  (after the Ring was dismantled and re-created)  my central stone is 1.49 carrots, and the surrounding stones are 1.43. so we have a 3 carat ring ,  and gained a whole carat!

Oaring sparkles like a star, especially in low light, and I’m ever so pleased with her  as she truly is one-of-a-kind, like our relationship

The original ring –  and it rudimentary 18 carat gold setting

My mothers engagement ring that I wear with my family ring on my right hand.

And my grandmother’s wedding ring that I wear occasionally.

My Grandmother’s wedding set we just found in a box today. Is this an “illusion” ring?

She also had another in an almost identical design, in a different size.

Here is my ring set. A .22 ct OEC diamond in a 1940s illusion setting and the band is a rosebud setting. On the sides of the e-ring are hearts. My husband and I got married with a silver set as I was not sure of what I wanted

in a forever ring set. But I love this one. We found it on eBay just before Christmas and it arrived Christmas Eve. There’s nothing more special than carrying on the love story of another couple 💜
