This is my very first post – yay!
I am pretty recently engaged and our wedding plans are well under way. I’ve started looking at wedding bands and I just don’t know what I like or want. My engagement ring is very simple (and gorgeous, I think!).
FH just told me that he really only likes plain, simple platinum bands, no diamonds, no nothing, and I was a bit disappointed. I thought I wanted a simple diamond band to add a little detail to my engagement ring, but surprisingly, when I found one I really liked, I almost felt like it took away from the solitare of my engagement ring. I’m now wondering if maybe a plain band is the way to go. I am also wondering if a simple rose gold band or hammered band might look nice and add a little detail without taking away from the solitare.
Are there any bees out there with simple solitare engagement rings like mine who want to show me what their band looks like? I want to see it all – plain, diamond, rose gold, hammered and everything in between!!!
Here is my ring:

Mine is actually a titanium custom band to match my husbands. Orginaly I was gonna get a plain sliver band or one with colored stones. But then Hubby expressed he wanted our rings to match. So we searched on esty and found a style we both loved. The great things about solitares is anything goes with them.
Our rings together.
And mine by its self.

It was important for me to have our bands match, so we went with our religion (Pagan) and found these bands. It is Theban runes engraved on the outside with the translation engraved on the inside. “Hearts as one”. LOVE THEM!!

What carat size is that? I have that same exact ring I think and I am having the same problem. I originally wanted a diamond wedding band, but now I am thinking of something with more of a twist shape to it, and haven’t decided with or without diamonds.

Mine is a princess solitaire. I wanted a pop of color so I got a diamond and amethyst band:

thanks for all the show and tell!
@futuremrsbc, mine is about 0.75 carats. funny, because I actually always thought my engagement ring would have a little twist to it, so I’ve been looking at wedding bands with a twist too.
@JessMorgan777, your ring is so beautiful and different – I love it!
any one have other suggestions? Does anyone have a simple solitare like mine and a simple band to match? thanks everyone!

I have a bezel-set solitaire, we went with a bezel-set wedding band as well. Congrats on your engagement!

I just saw your reply! Thank you! The whole reason why I decided on a solitaire is because I knew I could jazz it up any way I wanted. As for a recommendation, if your wanting something simple I suggest something like this:
But I personally love these:

Here is an online image of my wedding band — a 1-carat, half-eternity band in platinum:
Here it is with my e-ring. I don’t actually have a solitaire; however, the nature of a setting with tapered baguettes is that it helps to make the ring look like a solitare but with sparkle on the sides:

Ladies, you all have such beautiful engagement rings and wedding bands! Thank you so much for sharing.
@JessMorgan777 Thank you SO much for all the suggestions – they’re gorgeous!!! I really like the detailed bands with no diamonds, I hadn’t thought of that before!
@Mrs Christopher When I see yours, I just think its GORGEOUS. I love the simple, traditional look and I really think that’s what I want. I’m so happy to see it on someone else and really love it!! You’ve been a huge help 🙂

Plain band for me as well! I love the simple, classic look of it… and really, I felt like everything else I tried on took away from my engagement ring!
