I wanted something simple and modern. There were three flavours, white chocolate raspberry, chocolate orange and Turkish delight on the top tier.

My wedding isn’t until May so the picture is not my actual cake but what I’ve ordered.  It’ll be chocolate with raspberry filling and a layer of lemon with vanilla filling.

I’m making my own – this was my trial run:

We’re going to make the grey side a touch darker though we think and it’s going to have some piped beads on the top layer instead of diamantes πŸ™‚

theatrejulia:  Thank you πŸ™‚ cakes are a hobby of mine. We just need to work out the logistics of getting the cake to the venue as there’s a Wedding the day before ours haha

We had a naked cake! Neither DH nor I are huge fans of icing or fondant and we wanted something simple, so this was perfect for us. Plus, it was much less expensive that regular iced cake! It tasted amazing and I’m really surprised it turned out so well because it was the first naked cake our baker had tried doing. She did a lot of research on how to make it so it wouldn’t dry out since so much of the cake is exposed.

We had 2 flavors- lemon cake with lemon curd and raspberry filling, and chocolate cake with chocolate and mocha buttercream fillings.
