The cake! its one of my most favorite parts of the wedding! Were having pound cake with alternating layers of chocolate chips 🙂 (I wanted chocolate, Fiance wanted it for his grooms cake, we compromised)  but here is the beauty! the colors will be the same, but were doing hydrangea and garden roses for the flower cluster and the ribbon will be fondant

It was supposed to be blue with white accents, but our cake maker was so proud, I never had the heart to tell her or complain. It was still beautiful!

My mom made ours even though she had never made a cake this huge her entire life. She had to bring it in from out of state, so we didn’t want to risk her stacking it. Thus we used a cascading display cake stand from a craft store (it’s a Wilton model). Each “tier” was a vanilla or white cake with a different fruit flavor filling: cherry, apricot and blackberry. She froze the tiers, transported them in cake carriers, and assembled them the day of the wedding. You can tell it (and the cakestand decor) started melting in the sun. But I’m so proud of what an amazing job she did! Everyone said it was absolutely delicious and the ironic thing is that it was only a modified cake mix recipe!

Ours was red velvet with cream cheese buttercream icing. The groom’s cake was a dairy-free (poor hubbs is lactose intolerant) record player shaped creation that was actually delicious!!!

This was ours. It was so much prettier in person too. Here I think it looks awefully plain. Also, it was hexagonal which I kinda liked. There were supposed to be blue orchids on it too but somewhere in the hustle and bustle they didn’t get put on there. Oh well!

This is what I want our cake to look like (the little stars are gerbera daisies, and we have a bride and groom on top) If anyone has a real picture of something similar, I would love to see it (rather than my microsoft paint picture I drew myself LOL)
