Unfortunately I don’t have any good pictures of them, but we did 2 truffles in a box–one was dark chocolate with a milk chocolate drizzle, and the other was milk chocolate with a dark chocolate drizzle. I made a little sticker that read, “Life is unpredictable, eat dessert first!“, and they were sat on the plates when guests first sat down. Everyone got a kick out of it, and thought it was a cute idea.

We originally were going to do a candy buffet (MOH was going to give it to us as her gift), but a week before the wedding, she pulled out on it due to financial reasons. Funny thing is, she ended up spending another $600 that weekend doing something else for herself, so really she was just greedy. Oh well.

@brighteyedgirl:  That’s such a cute idea! Did you do a plated dessert too or just the truffles (and maybe cake?)

We’ll be doing a trail mix bar, with brown paper bags stamped with our monogram or just names/date that people can fill with their own trail mix. I’m hoping there will be leftovers! 🙂

@ladyartichoke:  We did a plated dessert (crème brûlée), as well. Plus wedding cake.

@brighteyedgirl:  I think I might have loved your wedding – crème brûlée is my favourite dessert. And who doesn’t like cake? Nom.

@brighteyedgirl:  Aw, thank you! It was a pretty awesome day/night, I must say.. but then again, I may be just a bit bias, lol. I’m definitely glad we decided on the brûlée–we almost scrapped it. As for the cake, we ended up bringing 2 tiers home.. :]

@brighteyedgirl:  i had creme brulee for our dessert too.  it was by far the best i’ve ever had.  guest were  raving about it.  (it was gluten free too).

we had mint chocolate smoothies (like a square truffle) from a gourmet shoppe in dark and milk chocolate.  they were foil wrapped in our colours and boxed up for guests.

@mypinkshoes:  That’s so awesome–great minds think a-like, I guess! ;] I LOVE mint smoothies, too. YUM!

Guests are still raving about all of the food served at our wedding, which we’re really happy about–our first ‘trial’ with the venue was less than stellar. With Darling Husband being a chef, and having a handful of others as guests, we knew we had to impress.

@brighteyedgirl:  yes, being from ontario you would know about mint smoothies.  they are the only request that my dh had for the wedding.

We made fabric flowers for our favors. I assume people liked them ok, since I didn’t see a ton at my mom’s when we got back from our honeymoon 🙂
