If you’re not used to professional photos you’re going to want to go heavier than normal and in your case a lot heavier than normal for it to show up. You should post your photos for us to to make a better call. Sorry I don’t have a closer up photo at this point (the MUA didn’t do one on her phone like she did everyone else). Fake lashes do wonders!!! I love them and wear them during the year for fun events, wedding day was no different. Also remember you have this big look and your make-up needs to match- a statement wedding dress, jewelry, hair… you make-up should match the formality of those other items if that makes sense?

Clove86:  I’m wondering the same as I generally do not wear a lot of make up and Fiance would have me totally make up free if he could! So definately following this thread. I don’t want to feel like I am caked in make up or anything but don’t want to look washed out in photos…

If you’re happy with it, ignore the others. The makeup definitely looks well done and matches what you said you were going for – natural but polished. If they want glam makeup, tell them they are free to wear theirs as glam as they’d like that day! ๐Ÿ˜›

A bold lip color would be one easy way to up the glam factor just a tad, if you do want to go that way.

Clove86:  I think you DO look like a movie star, I don’t know what your Fiance wants anymore.. Hehehe. A bit more eyeliner is always good, you want your lashes and lips to stand out most, IMO. I don’t know if your lipstick just wore off until you were able to get the pictures or if it just looks so naturally that I can’t see it, but I might try something a bit bolder on the lips. But that’s just me! ๐Ÿ™‚

I did my own make-up for my wedding, as I am much more comfortable with it. I just layered some stuff on more than what I usually would. I didn’t do a bold lip, as I usually don’t normally. I prefer pinks, and went with a nude/pink layered look. I did have eyelash extentions done, but that was it for anything professional.

FWIW – I think your make-up looks great!!

The eye makeup looks great!  I agree you maybe need more lip definition but that’s it.  Here’s some that show my hair and makeup from the big day:

If you love it and are confident in it, than don’t change a thing! I think you look beautiful.

Here’s my wedding day look. It looked heavier than my usual routine in person, but it photographed beautifully!

Your final picture your make-up looks like it has a stronger contrast which is make what your FH is thinking. It looks really pretty! Maybe just throwing on some extra mascara over the fake lashes will give you a bigger POP (I know I did that after my MUA left). I don’t think you need a brighter pink lipstick but a gloss or some lip liner to make them stand out might help.

Just got my wedding photos in yesterday! ๐Ÿ™‚

Sounds crazy but think about your photos in B&W, if you don’t have contrast somewhere everything will blend together. My lipstick is bright but you can’t see in that photo.. you notice my contour and eye make-up. Just a thought!
