This is my wedding band before I started wearing it. Not the greatest picture I know, but it’s the only one I have that shows the band. It’s pretty white, but warmer than platinum.

I got mine in June, so it hasn’t been replated.

This is actually RIGHT after I got it back from being dipped. It gets redipped every 6 months when it goes out for the warranty inspection. It doesn’t need it that often, but they do it for free when they check the prongs and the stones and clean it.

I have a good example.  I have had my e-ring for about a year and have not gotten it re-dipped.  You can clearly tell the difference between my newer white gold wedding band and the band on the e-ring in the second picture, but as you can see on the first picture, it looks just fine from the top.  I don’t think I’ll bother getting it re-dipped until you can notice the color change on the top side of the ring since no one will ever see the bottom anyway.

Sorry for the dumb question. I have an 18k white gold band. In 3 months I have caused a few dints/marks underneath. Nobody can see them but it bugs me. Does replating fix the damage I caused?

@Milo:  Yes. I had a bunch of scratches on the back side of my band (normal wear and tear) and when it came back from replating, it looked brand new.

My engagement diamond certification card when the ring was bought said 2007. I bought it used and IDK if it was ever dipped. My band is new. I’ve had it for 8 months and I haven’t noticed any difference. There is a slight difference between my engagement and my band but I will probably wait until the band needs dipped and do them at the same time.

both my rings are white gold and neither has been re dipped or anything. they are only about 2 months old, but i don’t take the band off very often.  the band gets scuffed but is cleaned right up with some mild dish soap.

I just got mine redipped today and it looks like new. I’ve had it since february, but I noticed the band was really starting to yellow.
