Looking for some ideas for bridesmaid’s bouquets and bouts/corsages that won’t cost me A. an arm and a leg and B. that are soft and romantic looking.
I am pretty set on making a brooch bouquet for myself so it would be 4 bridesmaids and my wedding colours are sapphire blue, silver and white/ivory.

I didn’t do any flowers at all; everything was greenery or non-flower organics (i.e. pods, branches, leaves, ferns, pinecones, evergreen boughs, etc.). I didn’t want a bouquet, so I carried a sable muff with a corsage attached. The red berries were NOT supposed to be there. If I hadn’t had the muff, I considered doing a brooch bouquet.
This was DH’s bout. Again with the berries! But the rest I loved.
If your colors are in the blues & silvers, you could do something similar but with either faux or painted organics. Same effect, different colors!

@BostonBaby: so cute! I love the pinecones and the green branches. Thanks for sharing 🙂

I’m making the bouts for my October wedding (not quite winter yet). Once I got the initial idea down they were easy to knock out. All the boys are engineers, hence the steampunk nod 🙂
I found a great website that has tons of preserved flowers that I used instead of fresh. http://www.save-on-crafts.com There are a ton of great resources there for any DIYers.

@nuts4ducks: wow! I love that the bout is a reference to what the guys do, so neat. 🙂 Preserved flowers? I hadn’t even considered that, thanks for the link, I am checking it out as we speak!
