We have kind of an ampersand thing going with our invitations and programs and I wanted to incorporate it a bit in other places in our ceremony and reception. I’ve seen tons of pictures of couples holding a big wooden ampersand… has anyone made or decorated their own? I was thinking of making a 12inch one (and by making, I mean buying a wooden one and painting/glittering/bedazzling it) to sit in front of us at the head table and then a smaller one for a cake topper, maybe with our initials also. Anyone have any pictures or tips on where to buy or how to do it?

This is the one I bought for our engagement photos: http://www.etsy.com/listing/98380264/12-wooden-ampersand-sign-photography-diy?ref=shop_home_feat
That shop makes other sizes too. We painted it white because the photog said he could always change the color in photoshop if we wanted 🙂 Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures to show you the size or anything just yet because we get our engagement photos this weekend! But I’ll be glad to show you a picture or two with the ampersand if you’d like when they arrive 🙂

@ifoundmyprince: The one I ended up buying is very similar, maybe just a little bit thicker (almost like a bolded font). I think I am foregoing the glitter and spraypainting pewter and hanging it at the ceremony with bright purple organza ribbon and probably putting it on the head table with an orchid accent. We will probably also take a few pics with it!
