I currently have a white gold ring but am not a fan AT ALL of how it looks when the rhodium wears off. We’re looking into palladium right now and I know that does patina over time. Unfortunately I’ve never seen a patina ring to know if I will like it where it would be worth it to reset my stone. Please show me your patina/worn platinum and palladium.

I just googled “Patina Platinum Ring”.
You’ll get a lot of results if you use the right search terms.

I find the platinum patina much more attractive than worn white gold.

My e-ring and wedding band are platinum. I’ve worn my e-ring for almost four-and-a-half years now, and I’ve worn my wedding band for almost three-and-a-half years. I am extremely glad that I chose platinum over white gold. My thin anniversary band (shown at the top of my set) — which was an impulse purchase made while we were traveling last year — is set in white gold, and I did not like the way the white gold began to look on the shank of the ring after just six months.

This is not my set, but is a good representation of how the underside of my platinum e-ring looked after 1 year of wear. From a distance it was still shiny but slightly dull, and up close you could see tiny scratches. I had it polished for our wedding and it was like new again. My w-band is also plain platinum and I plan to have the set polished every year for our anniversary.

My ring is from the 40s, it defintely has a patina and I like the look of the metal a lot. I think this pic probably shows the patina best.
