We are just starting to think about our (civil) ceremony – and it’s very daunting! Our officiant gave us a copy of his standard script, and told us that anything not in boldface is editable. Out of 3 single-spaced pages, only abot 10 lines are in bold! So we have a lot of room to play.
If you don’t mind, would you be willing to share your ceremony with me? I would love word-for-word recounts, but if you are shy and even just want to post the headings (e.g. Invocation, reading #1, vows, etc.) that would still be helpful.
As I said, we are having a civil, non-religious ceremony but to appease my mom (and the part of me that is spiritual in a non-organized sort of way), we are having our dear Christian friends (the guy is a GM) do something like a prayer or blessing as part of it.
So post away! I’d especially love to hear about how you’re personalizing it or trying to make things unique and special to you as a couple. Music or song choices would be great to hear about as well.
I guess the thread might get too long if you post your ceremony verbatim, so perhaps you could email me. If other WBers are interested, I could compile what I get and send them out via email. [email protected]
