@KoiKove: I was married in the Florida Keys, at this resort: http://www.coconutpalminn.com. It’s a small resort on the bay (sunset) side, only 17 rooms. We/our guests had the entire resort for the weekend.

The sparklers were my absolute favorite part of the reception. In looking at photographers’ portfolios, I had seen a few photos of sparklers used for the send-off. But since we weren’t actually leaving (our room was just a few steps away, and we partied until 3 a.m.!), and the reception was on the sand, it occurred to me to use them for the first dance. It’s a little fuzzy, but here’s another photo that shows everyone standing in a circle as we “entered” for the dance:

@NotYourTypicalBride: Um, ya… I wish I could have gone to YOUR wedding! Everything looks fantastic and I love that people look as if they are so happy to be there!

So, as per the rules of this post here is the photo of “us”:

And here are the three things I loved about our wedding:

1. The old photographs we displayed on our guest “pages” table. “Guest pages” – we used photos from our engagement shoot and our photographer created an album, but did not have it bound. Instead we laid the pages of the album out on a long table (decorated with photos of our families – grandparents’ weddings, parents’ weddings, etc). Our guest then left us wonderful heartfelt messages about love, honor, tradition, etc. It was if the photos inspired the most beautiful sentiments. Also, my husband’s little niece and nephew (flower girl and ring bearer) felt the need to write “You are cool” and “I love you” on every single page! Ha! Ha!

2. The fact that my uncle Patrick played On Raglan Road on the bagpipes for our processional… It was a touching moment that made my mother instantly cry.

3. The vintage Packard we used as our get away car… Just to sit in the car, sip champagne, and have a quite moment with my husband was truly priceless!

Additionally, things that were perhaps not photographer that I loved about our wedding were: my mom cried tears of joy from the moment she woke up in the morning until the minute her feet hit the dance floor at our reception. Also, that family and friends from all over the world could be with us on that day. And finally, that is didn’t RAIN! Ha! Ha!

Ok, one more picture for good luck! Random act of …. the groom crowd surfing? Wink

@KoiKove: Ha! Ha! The comment about my husband’s cheeks – hilarious! It is one of the first things I noticed when I met him for the first time in 6th grade.  We were just 11 years-old and this new kid came walking through the gym doors with bright rosy cheek! I remember thinking… “gosh, he’s tall and LOOK AT THOSE CHEEKS”! Ha! Ha! As for the photos, wow – you have some great eyesight! That is a picture of my family and some are wearing kimonos. Interestingly enough, I am also half Japanese and half Irish! YAY! I thought you looked “hapa” (half)! Well, congratulation on your gorgeous wedding!

@KoiKove:OK! I’ll post when I get the pro pics back.

Her “favorite” pictures are all wonderful, but they don’t show my 3 favorite things (she avoided posting any photos that were more than just the two of us, for the most part).

Us:

Who put those ugly flowers near the cake? Huh, I don’t even remember them being there!

My favorite things:

1. The litte “I love you’s” we whispered during the ceremony, and the readings by our dads. And the chupah itself, and his little sword maneuvers, and the bubbles after. Basically, the whole ceremony.

2. The receiving line! Best idea EVER.

3. Our first dance (and the father-daughter/mother-son dance)–the band learned the songs just for us and they were AMAZING. When I get the video, I will post it, too (so you can hear their rendition). The songs: ours: “1, 2, 3, 4” by Plain White T’s with parents: “I Can See Clearly Now” by Johnny Nash

@KoiKove: Oh fun! I can play now! ๐Ÿ™‚

Photo of us:

3 favs (this is gonna be hard to narrow down):

#1-The venue: was gorgeous, the food was great and the setting made for a relaxing day.

#2: Our dogs were part of the day as ring dog and flower dog. They were super cute!

#3-Our wine box ceremony. No one at our wedding had seen this before and all thought it was a really great idea. Thanks weddingbee!

And as an honorable mention: the zombie cake toppers. ๐Ÿ™‚
