Hi Bees!
So last week I was on vacation in my hometown to visit family and friends. While I was there, I was gifted my future wedding band! It belonged to my FI’s Grandmother. We noticed that there were 5 little stamps on the inside and I got curious! The stamps were “W. C & S”, crown, 22, left facing anchor, “G”. I did some digging, and found out this ring was hallmarked during 1855! I love antique anything, it’s crazy to think of the stories that certain items possess.
The only thing I’m now worried about is that my engagement ring is 14kt yg, and my wedding band will be 22kt yg (which is too soft for daily wear…it’s already a bit bent so I would like to get it restored).
Does anyone else have any antique or handed down rings (pics or stories) that they would like to share?

Mine is only from the 1980’s and was my mom’s wedding set. My parents are still married after 26 years but it doesn’t really fit her finger anymore. I love it!

This ring was passed down to me a few years back. My grandfather was a jeweler in the 50’s and he made this three stone diamond ring YG and PLAT himself! I feel honored to wear it and I love it! .5cttw

My Grandmothers’s ring. I think it looks like Jackie-O’s when she was married to JFK.

I also have my Great-Grandmother’s ring. Orginally it was opal and pearls, but now it has pink and white(?) diamonds.

My ring from 1760

FutureMrsHitBee: Can we see a picture of the ring?? 🙂 I had my ring’s shank redone and the prongs rebuilt it was like $400, but worth the price. If we see your ring maybe we can help you determine what needs done?

This ring was FH’s grandmother’s wedding ring! From the 1930s, a midcentury design. It was a complete surprise to receive this ring, and I love it so much. I didn’t find anything in stores that I liked, and FH said that when his mother showed him this ring he knew it was the one for me! He was right 🙂

prettyinpink11: Sure! It just a 22kt solid band, no frills or anything. I honestly think it just needs to be resized (it flies off my thumb, and my ring size is 3.5), and a good cleaning. I can deal with the slight bend in it. No biggie.

FutureMrsHitBee: I’m sure when they resize it they can fix the bend, such a nice band! Very “married”!

It’s so lovely that lots of you have your mums rings or your grannies rings.
My e-ring is antique but bought not through my family. It’s a platinum ring about 100 years old. Diamond in the centre is 2.4ct OMC thought to be mined in the 1800s. It has a very pretty hearts and scroll setting.
I do often wonder where it’s been and what it’s ‘seen’ and if its previous owners are happy that we now have it.
and in the same week as getting engaged i also got gifted this pretty little flower style ring from a distant relative. It’s not really my style so I considered resetting the diamonds but some of the Bees commented to say I should keep it as it is and maybe pass it on to a daughter or god daughter. It’s ever so cute. It must be about 80 years old but I’m not sure.
