I’m not sure what clarity mine is, but it is from Kay’s. It has no viable spit’s I can see and its an e color And a 1/2 carrot I think. And please excuse my nails I REALLY need to redo them haha.

sonikara:  Oh we called corporate, they didnt do a thing not one. And told us the store could look me up but the manager said it takes too much time. Thankfully now we go to a local jeweler and he inspects it and does whatever needs to be done for FREE. Kays & Zales are the worst.

I agree with everyone that the quality is not top shop.  Mall/chain stores are not for everyone.  I do not mind to take mine in to be inspected every 6 months, it just so happens to fall around my birthday and christmas which is easy to remember.  I do like the fact that I can wear it 24/7 and if the stone fell out it will be fixed no problem.  Like I said before, i broke the band of my MIL’s and if i lost that one i would be devastated.  it is not insured and my hubs is not a jewelry person.  he was happy to go with me to pick out a ring i could wear and not worry about losing, even if the quality is not so good.  he would much rather buy me electronics or something for use around the house.  Would i love to choose my own stone and setting, ABSOLUTELY!  but thats not whats in it for me.  i see some beautifully designed rings on here.  but, we are a bunch of lucky ladies to have men that love us and deal with our jewelry obsessions!  no matter how many rings we have.

Here’s my issue with Kay’s in a nutshell.

Their higher end preset solitaire, the Leo, starts at a G color and goes down the scale from there. Now, I’m not a color snob, but I’m just looking at this from a value perspective. The clarity is not listed, but is low, you said the one your boyfriend looked at was an I3. The stones are not GIA graded. With a 3/4 carat solitaire, the weight is vague and can be anywhere in a certain range.. Price is $3,799.99

Now, compare that to what you could get at a retailer like Blue Nile:

The price is LESS, foR much better quality. Enough said.

ladybug55078:  I’m very happy with it!  I have had it since mid February of this year and no problems yet. I have banged it a few times no scratches or stones coming out. The only thing that gets a little annoying but I don’t really mind is that the setting is very high so it gets fuzzies stuck in it. Also my hair is really long so when I run my hand through my hair it will get stuck. But both those things just take a little getting used to and adjusting too. I love how it is different from a standard solitare and have not seen anyone with the same ring which is neat.

I just got my ring — http://www.kay.com/en/kaystore/engagement—wedding/black-white-diamonds-1-2-ct-tw-bridal-set-10k-white-gold/100006/100006.100007.100368 and I am in love with it! It may not be the highest quality or whatever, but it fits my style and personality, and that’s what matters most to me. I looked at TONS of rings at various stores, and this is honestly the one I liked best, and since it’s something I’ll wear the rest of my life, that’s how I decided.

oliviakatherine:  I’m glade u got it sorted out! kay’s make me sick.they are just a bunch of money hungry people who don’t concider their customers at all. It’s all for their own individual benifits.they hound u with Kay card and even if u have a budget u don’t want to go over, they still try to push u for a more expensive one with the excuse “but u can do monthly payments if u open a Kay card”… Sterling corp. In general does not care about anything even their employees. It’s all about money to these people. From stores to corp.

girlseeksring:  places like blue Nile is awesome for their quality and prices. leo diamond ranges from very good to excellent cut. It depends on what u look for in a diamond. with ideal cuts it give off more fire( sparkle) Leo’s are cut so they give off more brilliance (white) and their color ranges anywhere from near colorless to flawless but never below.one of the reason y they are so expensive is becuase only one place make it and only every 2-3 out of 10 Leo diamonds will pass their inspection.itntakes 10-15 yrs for a diamond cutter to become a Leo cutter and cut their first diamond.. Although I do agree the price are ridiculouse. I do understand the reason behind it.not to mention Leo’s are the only diamonds in the world with extra facets. Also normally anything that is certified cost more. The ideal cut is model after tolkwoksy which color ranges is no lower then an I color but their cut is always ideal and give that heart n arrow Cut.

i do no if anyone have ever tried Kobe beef.but they are the most expensive beef in the world and can only be found in one farm. if u compare it with other beefs..u just can’t..it tastes really different then ur standard beefs.

the only way I see if u want it cheaper is if u go straight to the source and cut the middle man. But even that alone the Leo’s and tolkwoksy ideal are still pretty expensive.at least with the ideal cut diamonds it doesn’t have to be cut by the original designer and can get it for cheaper.but with something like Leo diamond. It’s close to impossible.

sonikara:  The Leo does have extra facets, and this does cause the diamond to have a different (and vibrant) kind of look. It may not be for some, but it is a really nice looking stone. While mine is small compared to a lot of stones on here (and in my real life) it has much more life than a lot of other diamonds I see in real life, even unde the horrid lights in school. Yes, you can get better specs in terms of the 4C’s for less money, but the diamond is not going to look the same. There are other branded diamonds with more facets, ut I have not compared their specs or price. I am not a kay’s fan, BUT if I had the money, I would go up to my sweet spot (1ct) in a Leo. Yes, I could get a 1 ct for less elsewhere, but I personally really love my Leo.

**This opinion is coming frm someone who IS ducated on diamonds, who DOES read Pricescope religiously and who has seen a LOT of diamonds. I just ordered ain inexpensive moissanite for India and I am very curious to see how it compares.

**Mine is an SI2 and I can see a few carbon spots with my lighted 60x loupe but my stone still looks more vibrant than other diamonds I see.

I have never heard good things about Kay’s peronally (or other similar places like Jared’s)

I work in bridal and it always seems like my brides get their rings from the same place (if it’s not a family heirloom):

http://www.brilliantearth.com/

https://samnsue.com/

http://www.bluenile.com/

Or many go to small/local family owned jewelry shops.

My brother also recently found an amazing deal on overstock for his Fiance and the ring was absolutely gorgeous. However this requires a little more digging and research.

My Kay’s e-ring. I’m not sure of the specs as I didn’t ask Fiance (I didn’t care honestly.) I love it, it doesn’t matter to me that it isn’t custom and doesn’t have a huge stone.
