Now that we’ve got our save the dates ready to send (I’m still over the moon about how they turned out, lol) my brain is turning to the invitations. The save the dates were designed so that elements could be transitioned to the invites, but we want to keep the invites more formal.
I’d LOVE to see everyone else’s Save the Dates!!! Everyone likes to show off their pretties, right?! And if your invites take on elements of your Save the Dates, I’d be particularly interested in seeing them too 😀

@goingtotherooftopoflove: I dont have a pic of my STDs but they did not match my invitations at all. My invitations were very traditional.

Back of Save the Date:@goingtotherooftopoflove: Your save the dates look wonderful- congratulations! Wedding planning is such a fun blessing!
Our save the dates and invitations don’t match, but they coordinate. Obviously, the pink lines are just there to cross out personal information. Our save the dates were printed on a shimmer paper. Our invitations will arrive in a box wrapped in three sheets of tulle, as they feature a real dried orchid flower. Our wedding invitations are being shipped this upcoming Tuesday, and I feel so blessed and excited!

@goingtotherooftopoflove: Totally did not match in the least bit

Our STD was actually a video, but we sent it out on USB drives with our wedding “logo” on them! We then used the same element on our invitations, as well as various other places throughout the wedding. 🙂

Heck yeah, it’s so fun to show off your pretties.
These are ours. They don’t match, and I couldn’t care less. I feel like Save the Dates are a place where you can be more fun and casual, and you don’t necessarily have to match everything else. A good friend designed them for us, and I had them printed at a local printer. I LOVE the way they turned out.
The invitations are from Invitations by Dawn. We chose their thickest paper, and it’s so wonderfully creamy and luxurious. Their turnaround time was fast, too.

love the colours! And what a novel save the date… what was on the video?
such fun save the dates! That’s so creative! And I bet your invites will print out beautifully, what a classic look, I love it!
One thing I love about weddings… they bring out people’s creative side!

Here’s our save the dates! The invites match and fit in with our “lovebirds” theme!

- Wedding: November 2013 - St. Augustine Beach, FL
Ours match thematically since they both feature starfish but the STDs are more casual while the invitations are more traditional.

Mine will match, got the save the dats off Etsy and will get the matching invites from the same seller.
Not my invites, but pics from the Etsy store:
Save the Date, but the stamps will be starfish and shells like the invite:
Invite, but the pocketfold will be turquoise like the save the date:

Our wedding videographers shot footage of us in our home, at some of our favorite places, and at our wedding venue, then put it all together in a short video set to music. It was great because it gave our guests a chance to get a feeling for who we are together, and it was a good way for more distant relatives on both our sides to get to know who this person is we’re marrying!

Ours matched, but I designed them that way. They were all backed with a grey background with white polka dots.

So gorgeous! That’s similar to what I’m planning, to use elements from the Save the Dates to coordinate our invites. We used the “C & C” circle for return address labels on our envelopes and we’re going to use that for lots of other things, including invites and at the reception. That is a PERFECT colour pink you used to match the grey!
Love the starfish! One thing though… did you have a change of venue? I just noticed that! lol.
That video sounds amazing! I know what you mean by giving people a chance to see you together, a lot of our guests haven’t met us as a couple (my dad’s family haven’t met him, and we haven’t met a lot of our parent’s friends who are coming). We weren’t clever enough to do a video, but we used plenty of photos!
