our theme was garden of eden because our names are adam and eva.  my brother and sis in law gifted it to us.  it was sculpted to look like us.

Still curious on the Willow Tree toppers… do I HAVE to get a cake topper, or will it be okay if I just get the figurine? I don’t really want to buy the figuring and then have it not be stable enough to go on the cake. Thanks bees! 🙂

@CellaDee: Those Willow Tree figurines are pretty darn stable. I have several myself.

I love Willow Tree, too! In fact, I’ll probably put that figurine on our registry, and just buy it if we don’t recieve it as a gift. Lovely little things, they are.

We’re Pez collectors! So here’s ours that are whimsical, didn’t cost much, and will easily just add to our collection:

I would imagine a willow tree figurine would work fine as a cake topper. Maybe there is something you could stick it to (with temp glue or something like that) that could be the base?  I would think it would work either way.  You may want to check with whoever is making your cake, though.

We didn’t really do a cake topper.  I loved the look of flower arrangements on a cake, so this is what we went with….

Talk with your cake decorator, I’m not sure that the figurines will stay put without a base.

Also, I have been seeing many brides with flowers or even no topper, and have the Willow Tree figurine (or any other figurine, music box, etc) used as a decoration on the table beside the cake. It really looks neat and brings more attention to the cake itself.

@srearley: That’s a good idea!

Willow Tree does have both figurines and cake toppers, but the figurines are a little cheaper.

@ScooterBride: I agree. Actually, I found some at a yard sale last week but didn’t buy them, and I’ve been kicking myself over it ever since!

My sister made our for us 🙂

I have loved and collected turtles for as long as I can remember.

My mom wanted to buy us this nice, expensive (gawdy!) cake topper. I told her that I didn’t like it and if I was going to have one that I wanted it to be something I would like and that I would want to display forever. Plus I couldn’t justufy the money she wanted to spend on the thing.

My sis made ours for under $10!

Our turtles are now in our china hutch and they look so good there.

Also, may want to look at the size of the topper in regards to the size of the cake. If your only having a 2 tier, the willow topper would prob over power it. If you had a larger 3 tier or 4 tier, the topper would be fine.

I JUST found ours yesterday! It’s an older style of the Lenox Wedding Promises figurine. I paid $2.00!

I love all the flower detailing and that she’s holding her bouquet still while dancing with the groom. Also I love that I found it for $2. LOL.

Mine is similar to willow tree,  it is ‘arora’  more than words….”Moments to treasure”
