Here is a picture of me in my dress…Like so many of you, when I bought it I loved it and then now I wonder if there aren’t others I would like more. But when I put it on again,  I am still pretty happy with it.  Sorry the picture is so dark…

Ta-da! My beloved dress! It’s Alfred Angelo 1640. I will be adding ruched straps to support the girls and slight alteration need to be made! But I love it and I’m so ready to PAR-TAY!

I went with a Maggie Sottero, too! Her corset back is INCREDIBLE. Especially for me–I was a 16 by bust size standards, but I wear a size 8 in the waist! Tough to fit, and Maggie nailed it. It’s nice to see everyone else agrees the models don’t attribute to the glory of the gowns! Keep in mind this picture was taken before I started hitting the gym and on a day where I wasn’t expecting to buy a dress, so I didn’t even do my hair! ha. I got it at Clarice’s in St Louis on a yearly sale where they clear out their inventory for new stuff. Needles to say, being 5’11", I am the perfect height to wear them off the rack without alterations!!!

@Bananapants, THANKS! I wish I had known about Sophia Tolli, her stuff is AWESOMENESS on crack. It’s nice to be able to share things like your dress, because I’m not really sharing pics with anybody besides my mom and my maid of honor plus a few bridesmaids (and only because a few of them are getting married and wanted to make sure they didn’t pick out anything too similiar or the exact same thing)!

I too was worried after we had ordered the dress that it was not the one. It was very different from what I had always imagined. I had always been a Maggie girl and thought for sure I would buy a Maggie. It was hard to find stores that carried very many or what I wanted though. I knew I wanted lace and drapping and I knew I did not like the tucks some dress have all over. I wanted a Victorian look (undertones of the wedding are Victorian). I ended up with a dresses with no lace and tucks (they are organza so appear softer, so I can handle that) but the beading and embroidery is what sold it for me. So Victorian.

I was also lucky, the store let me take pictures.  I look at it several times a week and fall more in love with it each time.

I have ordered it in Ivory and silver. It is Private Label by G.

    mine is CYMBELINE BALI!!!!

i wanted this dress in white but they don’t carry white in the u.s. i had to get a light ivory. but i love it!!!!! this dress is my dream dress so the color in the end took a backseat! i’m going with black shoes that have a black rose on the side, open toe, and wrap around ankle strap.  i found this bolero on etsy. i haven’t ordered it yet but mine will have some light ivory mixed in with the black rose. and… i’m going to do a half veil just covering one side of my face/over my eye

My dress is a Mori Lee style # 2189. I swore when I went dress shopping that I wanted a plain dress. I got a bit more than a plain dress…
