I’m sure we all have those photos where our faces are well… just funny/ugly/awkward.
Let’s share them here so we can have a good laugh!
I’ll start playing 🙂
Lipstick duck face?
My husband trying to lick my ear….. yuck!
Obviously pointing to something…. but what?!
Or just bursting out laughing..
Wow that double chin…
And I don’t even know what I’m doing here! 😉
Even though I hate my double chin here, I LOVE this photo. The emotions are so intense and my mom and I have the exact same expression from excitement. So intensely happy!
Another wild hand gesture and facial expression of some kind
And this last one is just endearing, my little brother and me. I love it.

sfp: These are such great shots!! Even though they aren’t ‘posed’, they’re real and you can feel the emotions coming through. So lovely actually!

rubyhagen: thanks! They’re really authentic indeed. Not always the best facial expressions but they made me and my husband laugh out loud when we first saw the photos!
Keep em coming folks! Would love to see others as well!

These photos made me smile! I don’t think they are ugly at all, I think they are real moments that you will always look back on and smile. No posing, no trying to look perfect. Just life and happiness. Cheers to you 🙂

sfp: I love these very real photos. What a great idea for a thread. Even though you may not think these are your best photos, they are all still lovely, especially the one with you and your Mum.

sfp: I have seen a lot of wedding photos on the website, but none of them have made me feel like I actually just met the person in the photos! Wow! Your pictures paint a vivid picture of your personality because it shines through in such an awesome way! I don’t think ANY of them look bad, awkward, or ugly at all. I’m tired of these magazine poses… Those aren’t the real you at all! THIS IS! You’re a gorgeous woman and you made a STUNNING bride!
PS: Everyone has a double chin at some point. I don’t care how skinny you are, when you talk your face moves and there are going to be unflattering moments. I don’t look at those photos and think “SHE IS FAT”… I look at them and think “She is talking” or “She is reacting”… it’s human! And I like your face/chin combo. It’s clearly not a weight issue at all. You’re beautiful and your facial expressions are amazing at conveying emotion. I just went through all the emotions you did at your wedding because they were captured so accurately.
Love, love, love this post!!!!

sfp: My photographer gave me a flash drive that won’t allow me to delete anything. So there’s a folder on it now labeled “NO” with all the bad shots. From what I recall, most of them were me getting dressed, which I never wanted taken in the first place, and they are hideous. I know for a fact there’s one with my crinoline and bra on and my panties showing through the crinoline. Why would I want that? I’d been wondering why pros don’t get rid of their obviously terrible shots, but now I get it – sometimes the bride really does like them in spite of themselves! I’ll have to dig the drive out sometime to share a non-panty shot on your thread, cause I sure didn’t save those on the computer!

skunktastic: Haha I can imagine you wouldn’t want to see your panties showing, but other than that… go dig up that drive and show some good ones!
I am a wedding photographer myself and I always think… who am I to judge what the bride wants to see and what not? It is SO difficult as a photographer. I have some favorite shots of brides but they hate it because of their chin/arms/neck/nose whatever. It’s really difficult to decide, so I usually include them.
And indeed, I am one of those brides who actually likes to see those photos too. Even though the shots might be a bit awkward, they are still very genuine and remind me of our day.
So please come and show them when you got em! I would love to see them for sure.
