I have a Neil Lane halo setting for my sapphire…I get a lot of compliments about the setting and the sapphire, and depending on the light it photographs different shades of blue which is pretty neat

My fiancé and I designed the ring together and had it made by a family-owned jewelry store here in Boston. Above are the pro photos taken by the shop; below is one I took shortly after he proposed. I love blue sapphires for so many reasons, not the least of which is how much less expensive they are carat-for-carat than diamonds (though still not the MOST budget-friendly option).

Mine is a 1.50 ct natural, ceylon sapphire with .50ct diamond halo.  I love that sapphires are a little unique, but still very traditional.
