SIL’s shower is in March and she is due in May with our (DH and I) first niece or nephew. They are team green so I am trying to stay away from buying clothes. We did get her a really cute yellow duck print sleeper for Christmas.
She has a pack and play on her registry that we are planning on getting, but we also want get her a few other small things. I don’t have any children yet so I need some help. They live in a small two bedroom townhouse so I know they are trying to keep the baby stuff to just the essentials.
A couple of things I have thought of:
1. Swaddling blankets – It seems like the Aden & Anais ones are popular.
2. Diapers – What size and brand would be good to get? The last time I spoke to her she wasn’t planning on cloth diapering.
3. Boppy
4. Activity mat
Any other ideas?

What else is on her registry?
A fun idea would be to sign up for an Amazon subscribe for wipes or diapers and have a monthly delivery for 6 months. This way you can change the size/brand etc as the baby grows the first few months and as mom discovers a preference for one or the other.
And even better is she doesnt have to store them.

She has the Boppy on her registry, some clothes, and some crib bedding, which would be in our price range.
A lot of the other stuff if too expensive since we plan on getting the pack and play.

I would generally stick to whats on her registry in order to not contribute to clutter. That is the point of the registry right? Make sure she gets what she needs/wants and doesnt end up with doubles of things.
Of course with the exception of something useful like diapers and wipes. I would avoid newborn size because many babies outgrow them very fast and moms end up with extra newborn sized stuff.

I ended up getting a ton of swaddling blankets, but no one bought me the Boppy! So I vote for Boppy.

How does the diaper subscription work as a gift? Sounds like a really cool idea. She loves Amazon and already has an Amazon Prime membership.

@NCSUchick27: Ever use Amazon subscribe and save? You find the product you want that has that feature and you click on the subscribe and save button. Then you choose the frequency you want it delivered. By doing this you get free shipping and a small discount between5-10% normally. You can change the frequency or cancel it at any time and start a new product. We get a lot of stuff this way.
For Example, see this link
http://www.amazon.com/Huggies-Fragrance-Wipes-Total-Count/dp/B007C8NI6Q/ref=sr_1_9_sns?m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&ie=UTF8&qid=1360517206&sr=8-9
See that there is an option for subscribe & save on the right? Its right below the One Time Delivery option.

Got her the pack and play, pack and play sheets, waterproof mattress cover, and Boppy all from her Amazon registry. I also got her the Aden and Anais swaddle wraps in the Jungle Jam print. Love Amazon for their awesome prices and free shipping!
