I did “From my shower to yours” gift bags for each of my girls…

Funky umbrellas are another cute idea but I don’t have a witty saying for those.

@UpstateCait:  I am stealing this idea 🙂 …and I’m also getting my mother a hanging plant as she’s financing the shower that my BM’s are hosting!

Uhh, i didn’t get my bridesmaids specific gifts for hosting the shower – although thinking back, maybe I should have.  I had discussed it with my Maid/Matron of Honor and she insisted that when I planned HER shower she didn’t get me anything but instead just gave me something at the rehearsal dinner.  So that’s what I planned on doing.  I did, however, get a really nice bottle of wine for the family friend whose house we used for my shower….. and she loves wine, so I figured that would work.  🙂

I was going to do what @UpstateCait:  did, but, when I got to Bath & Body Works, I fell in love with their new candle scents, so I just ended up buying all the girls 3 wick candles! They love them & have all been using them (I’ve visited their houses, I didn’t ask lol).

@Miss Orchard:  I did hanging plants for my mom and aunt, too. They helped out TREMENDOUSLY when it came to my shower but they’re not exactly shower kit type of people. They loved ’em!

Thanks ladies. The only thing I regret is not spending an extra few bucks and getting B&BW products instead of the cheapy Target sets. If I were to do it again, I wouldn’t cheap out.

I went to Hobby Lobby and found several platters.  I wrapped them up and had them ready to grab for showers/parties.  When you catch them on a “All Glass” for 50% off, it’s a piece of cake!

I sent my aunt a bouquet of flowers the week before the shower, and then gave my aunt and cousin a gift bag each filled with yummy treats to enjoy for dinner, if they were too tired to cook!  I also included a thank you note for their generosity.

Quick question, ladies. When are you giving your shower host gifts to them?

@LauraFaye4411:  I gave them their gifts after the shower was over. All guests had left and we were just sitting around chatting so that was the perfect oppertunity. My shower was a “surprise” (meaning, I knew about it the whole time but no one wanted to admit that I cracked the case) so giving them their gifts infront of the guests would have been a bit strange since I wasn’t supposed to know about it and all.

@UpstateCait:  Thanks! I think my small shower may turn into an unofficial hen party (open bar during the shower), so I’m not sure there will be an opportunity to give it to them directly afterwards.
