Any fun/unique ideas out there for bridal shower hostess gifts? My shower is being hosted by my mom, Future Mother-In-Law and 5 Bridesmaid or Best Man…all live in different places and 2 are taking planes to get here so no liquids.

What is a shower hostess gift? I’m really worried I missed the etiquette on this. My sis threw my shower as well as sis in law. I didn’t give them a gift except at the rehersal dinner :(((

Hmm, I’ve never heard of this. Generally the shower is thrown by the Bridal Party and maybe a parent or two… and to show appreciation for the shower and being a part of the wedding, you give some kind of gift or nice card at the rehearsal dinner.

I went to a shower recently and the bride gave each Bridesmaid or Best Man and mom a gift and I was liking “Oh sh*t…i haven’t even thought of this!”

In my own personal opinion (which clearly isnt always “right”), I would just write a very heart-felt note to the people who throw your shower when you send out the regular shower Thank You notes. And then I would give them gifts at the rehearsal dinner.

I’m going to make each of my girls a “From my shower to yours” gift bag. It’s going to consist of some bath & body works stuff that they can use in the shower (hence the pun) and a nice thank you note. I know you said no liquids but theres lots of shower things that you could include that aren’t liquid (I think, lol).
It’s not going to be anything expensive, I’m hoping under $10 each, but I think they’ll appreciate the thought.

I’m having 3 showers. . . Which means a lot of thank yous. For my first one, my 2 sister in laws and my Maid/Matron of Honor are throwing it. I’m going to give my two sister in laws a necklace I found on etsy for $20 each. My Maid/Matron of Honor is getting this little statue thing that is special between us. I was also thinking of getting each of them a gift card to Target as well, maybe for $25. The shower is at my mom’s house so she’ll get a plant since she loves them. My second one is thrown by my aunt and I was going to get her a gift card to her favorite restaurant. I was thinking about $75-$100. The third is being thrown by my FI’s side of the family. I don’t know them as well but was thinking gift card to a restaurant in their area. I just need to figure out who is all helping in the planning. I will write a card to everyone to thank them specifically.

@UpstateCait: I hope you don’t mind that I used your idea!
My goal in my hostess gifts were to get something thats practical. I went to the Dollar Store and got little tote bags rather than gift bags. I filled them with some organic fair trade lotion and soap from the natural foods store. (I can’t stand cosmetics with all the fake chemicals and harsh scents!) I also included a small umbrella from the Dollar Store and included a thank you note that said, “here are a few things in case of a shower and to use in your shower”

Imlike the idea of baked sweet goods and saying you are so sweet.
