Okay I am not a dress person but I am willing to go get one. In the meantime, what I have picked out of my closet is an oversized white sweater, black leggings, and black high heeled boots. What do you guys think, is that too casual?? Its not going to be a fancy restaurant or anything but still.. opinions???

@FutureMrsJohnston: Could you take a photo of the outfit to show us? It almost sounds a bit too casual but I think you might be able to get away with it! Do you have a belt for the sweater?

I dont have a pic, I am in jeans right now getting ready to dash out to go buy something else, lol. I dont have a belt with the sweater because the way it is cut it doesnt need one, its kind of an off shoulder shorter in front longer in back style

I would do the leggings with nice shoes or boots, and a loose sweater on top. Accessorize and do a nice make-up and hairdo and voilà ! If this is your typical look, you don’t need to dress up for your shower. However, you can easily dress up or dress down a clothing item with accessories. You can make a casual look more glam/urban and it will not look odd at all.
And I agree with PP, post pictures. 🙂

@FutureMrsJohnston: I’ve only been to a couple showers, and the brides wore dresses (and so did most of the guests). It seems like people like to dress up for these things. But it’s your shower – wear what you want!

That does sound a teensy bit casual to me… But it’s definitely seasonallly appropriate!

Sounds pretty casual. I’d wear a dress or skirt or at least something less hanging-out-by-the-fire-at-a-lodge.

Okay so I took everyone’s advice and wore a dress, I bought it literally an hour before the shower started, haha! Thanks for the advice and tips!
Happy shower day to us! 🙂 Mine is over but it was awesome! How was yours??
